Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Replace poor depth options with other poor depth options. That's your take. A bad one at that. And basically what the club had done for years.

Blore is another who is a poor choice. That bloke cost Melbourne a couple of GFs. Despite his pros, Bellamy hasn't been able to shake the laziness and lack of hunt out of his game. And even being down on troops, Bellamy has decided to keep him on the fringes and bring in other players - one of which was under Wests nose all this time.
Mate, I am saying we need to, if we can, bring in a player or 2 that can fill a gap for a short period of time this season while we are under injury pressure.

Our current depth got smashed 68-0 last week and 40 and 50+ the other weeks.

We need bodies - no one is saying they need to be signed to multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts. A bit of perspective wouldn't go astray.

Rather than pissing on everyone else, how about offering your solution so we can pick that apart?

Hear, hear…
Shawn is a better defender and has some other attributes to his game other than tries hard - which he also does.
If it was a choice between using Blore vs Seyfarth on game day and your choice is the baby giraffe, you fair dinkum would have rocks in your head.

Recent performances have taken the sheet off the face of those blinded by their liking for him.

I
Leilua unhappy at minimal.game time at Saints looking for an immediate release.

If we got him cheap for this year and next only then renegotiate...could be handy

Desperate times
Just a guess and I may be totally wrong, but would he be requesting an immediate release if he didn’t already have interest from another club ?
I cannot think of any other club that ideally needs an edge back rower right now.
This being the case I’ve got a suspicion he is heading our way if the immediate release is granted by the Dragons.

I can’t disagree with that RHS.
I am one of quite a few that have kept backing Seyfarth’s inclusion in our top 17 as a low cost value for money type player, but at a similar cost Shawn Blore is clearly a better player.

You’ve gotta be kidding me. He’s an ok player, but picked for Origin now? No! Daley’s an idiot. There’s a ton of better props going around, Jackson Ford can’t get a look in, despite playing with the second top team. No let’s pick a rookie from the underwhelmingly performing Storm instead 🙄
I couldnt believe it either ....and there seems to be no news on this anywhere...I think its a bum steer

And they are running 16th - so it appears your argument of spending more money doesn't hold up.
The money argument doesn't mean you isolate season by season. I and others have explicitly said, that over time you need some reasonable funding to get the right people/resources in place and that is the baseline to keep you in the conversation each year.

After that, it comes down to a variety of things that impact results season by season. I have also said, that not all clubs have the same problem all the time.

Anyway, here is a decade of results from Parra vs us. Not spectacular by any means, but a grand final and 5 top 8 finishes in 10 years is light years ahead of us.

I respect your opinion if you believe money has nothing to do with a clubs ability to get the right people in place. I would like to know why you think Parra has the results over 10 years below and why we don't if money plays no part?

If you look at a block of 1 or 2 solitary years. Over a 15 - 20 year period i would imagine they would statistically look much better. Though we need to take into account their salary cap rorting that buggered their team for a few years. Im a firm believer we are massively under funded. Though im also a believer that management and the ownership is much more important than money. Competent owners / managers can generate money. Incompetent owners / management can have billions and will waste it with nothing to show for it. Its much more important to have peopke running the joint who know what theyre doing.

I think May, twal, KPP and Sam F would be the only forwards in front of Blore if he came to the tigers. He is better than the rest

Astounds me that people believe there’s no correlation between being the most underfunded club in the NRL & not playing finals for 15 years.
