LIVE GAME Round 15 v Titans

Live Game Discussion
I have to agree.
- Defense round the middle was not good.
- Attack was disjointed. Hardly remember seeing any runners, let alone decoys, despite the many times Madden and Luai danced across to find any - which shows that set plays were few and far between.

Other thoughts:
- I thought Luai was standout in defense and was our best, even before he scored his tries.
- Bula setup that first half try with wonderful composure, but otherwise got shown up bigtime by his opposite number.
- Pole off the bench proved a positive and impactful change.
- I found it odd how late our dummy half (whoever was taking the role) often took to get to the play-the-ball, which doesn’t help build speed and momentum.
- That Seyfarth try-saver was bloody amazing. Superhero stuff.
Agree, our attack has been disjointed for quite a few seasons now. Rarely ever seems to click and stay on. What the hell is it????

Anyone catch what Phillip Sami did? Apparently he was abusing the crowd and the touchy told him to cut it out
yes, i was in the corner where he scored his try and he did seem to be a bit aggressive in his reaction to the crowd....seemed a bit personal, so not sure if he was copping it from the hill in the first half. Didn't see anything rude or over the top though. I did look away in disgust because of our feeble defense so i may have missed it.

I was busy so watched the game at 6pm.

It's funny how numb you feel when you know the result has already happened. This surely has to be studied. It's not like watching live you can influence anything but knowing it's already happened.. funny that.

I can't imagine how I'd have felt when they scored those 24 points.

Yep - only 2 set restarts for both teams and 5 penalties in the game. Allowed for an even contest.

6 agains seemed to be significantly reduced over the weekend apparently only an average 4.4 per game according to what i have read.Maybe the penny has finally dropped at HQ about what a joke the game is becoming because of it.
I hope it continues for the rest of the season because nobody wants to see teams get raped by referees till they are too tired to defend.

That was my first thought, the reaction seemed very personal

I think our fans have carried on a bit with the Raiders and Dogs game.

I think the sarcastic Vikings clap was funny but F U Canberra not so much. Booing of Galvin was fine but apparently lots in the crowd giving Khawds to Dogs fans etc.

Hopefully all this doesn't set a pattern for the fans of this Club.

I think it's more that the teams have adapted to it.

Defenders are not wrestling in the ruck at all.

I’d hate to see us get the same bad reputation as the Dog’s fans, but it seems like we’re half way there already. When you get some success after a long time of lack it can make people a bit over the top in their support.

wonder if the dogs start winning now....and if they don't, what will they blame when they cant blame the rule changes and excessive 6 agains.

The live game thread is always entertaining reading. We’d be winning by 30 and there would still be people whinging about what a dumb footy team we are! I stay away from it until the game is over for sanity’s sake.
The worst time you can tune into a live thread is at halftime. People will be calling for all sorts of people to be sacked, from players to coaches, never pick this guy again, never play at this ground again, etc.

Yeah and none of this 3 set restarts on the 3rd and 4th back to back...

It's not the set restarts that are necessarily the problem. It's how the refs use them.

In saying that, the NRL has made a rod for It's own back. The punishment for repeated infringement is severe when punished with a set restart. The defence would prefer the penalty. So now it is about how they balance that ratio as well as the sin bin usage and not destroy a game before it gets started.

In this era, the options are:

1. a 5 minute sin bin for repeated infringements (maybe 2 or 3). This would just normalise sin bins, but the punishment is commensurate with the infringement. 10 minutes is too much.

2. Reduce the 10 metres to 7 or 8 metres and give as many set restarts as you like.

3. A combination of the 2.
