I have to agree.
- Defense round the middle was not good.
- Attack was disjointed. Hardly remember seeing any runners, let alone decoys, despite the many times Madden and Luai danced across to find any - which shows that set plays were few and far between.
Other thoughts:
- I thought Luai was standout in defense and was our best, even before he scored his tries.
- Bula setup that first half try with wonderful composure, but otherwise got shown up bigtime by his opposite number.
- Pole off the bench proved a positive and impactful change.
- I found it odd how late our dummy half (whoever was taking the role) often took to get to the play-the-ball, which doesn’t help build speed and momentum.
- That Seyfarth try-saver was bloody amazing. Superhero stuff.
