Who's that?Has anyone else heard of Wests Tigers agreeing to a request from the Warriors to release Luke Lullilli for the remainder of the season before he links up with the Bears next year?

@innsaneinkShould never of been 4 years.
3 yrs you could live with for the amount we are giving him.
Going to be another Mbye, Klemmer, josh Reynolds, etc - where the club didn’t want him, and we pay overs PLUS 4 years….
The 4th year is always the problem when players are a 50/50 of meeting their price expectation
At least 3 yrs
- first year you test out
If shit - then really only left with one more year bc in the last year they know you ain’t extending so try and get another 2/3 yr deal elsewhere.
Whereas we are stuck with this dude for 3 yrs if he is not meeting the salary
We don't need a procession of injury prone outside backs, we've seen horror runs in the past with a few early retirements to boot.I’m meh with the signing.
He has speed and will be an absolute threat if we use him properly.
My meh is will his body hold up and defensively he has had challenges.
We could’ve done alot worse however and is an upgrade on Toa.
Bloody back loaded contracts, they've screwed us in the past.I texted into SEN this morning regarding the difference between Ricio and Cariannas variation between 500 and 700k.. Jimmy asked Cariannas and his response was it will probably start at 550 but goes up every year to around 800k in the 4th year..yikes...
Not here on the forum, but around the traps some of my fellow Wests Tigers supporters questioned the signing of Pat Richards on two occasions.Come on mate the poor dude hasn't pulled on a jumper for us yet and you're out looking for a scary black cat as a welcoming gift, wait till he has some crap games for doubt to enter your mind you never know he might surprise.
We have been screaming out for speed and now we have some at right centre, the position everyone's has pointed out as a glaring weakness.
it will be i threshing looking back 2 years from now, people will be bagging out Averillo for sure.I'm tipping this guy will get more shit than To'a.
Big money for an average centre being paid starting centre money that he couldn't get elsewhere. On 400k, different story.
Probably the first signing I'm perplexed by in the Benji era.
BcWhy you picking players at random ?
did you whinge when they picked up Sam Fainu, KPP and Taylan May ?
spoken like a true tigers fan -- who said the same thing when we signed all the other duds on long term deals for more money.Prior to this current hand injury. Averillo played 47 out of 48 games for the Phins. This season scored 6 in 7. And is only 25 years old. And we're not paying massive overs IMO. $500-$600 is market rate for a starting centre. Cap goes to 12.1 million next year and is anticipated to rise quite a bit next TV rights deal due to extra teams and games. This is a totally different situation.
More of a nod towards having Makasini (still think he’s a massive talent) and May at their best and believing Bula is our FB. Wing becomes the logical spot for him. Why? He’s not a winger
He puts forth something of an argument...a valid point here n there
It's not going to be $800k. You're dead set creating a narrative to suit yourself. And no I was never happy with MBye or Reynolds signing. They were on much more a year than Averillo will be next season at a time when the cap was only 65% of what it will be next season.Bc

Listen Ive got no problem with Jake if it was for 3 years at $550K.$600K
Its the four years that escalates to $800K.
That's my problem.
And if anyone says why whinge?
Are these the same fans that whinge when they back a new signing (like 99% of people do -- because "It's different this time.") and then when they turn into duds -- blame the player or coach or admin for singing them to long term deals lol.
Taylan, KPP, Bula, etc -- good deals.
Jake - dud deal.
I'm allowed to have a negative opinion if i think its a dud deal for the club.
I’ve got him in the Nick Meaney category. Never highly rated but very consistent in his time at the Storm. His best may not reach toa’s but his consistency will be miles ahead. Great signing imo

I remember on several occasions he’s got in space and being surprised because he’s deceptively quick. Hopefully a couple more years before age puts pay to that.Fast and tall
