Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

- just on averillos deal , 700k in year 3 and 4, it includes all ratchet clauses as well , which factors in a new broadcast deal , today's comparison would be around 500k

- expect samuela and latu to be announced in the next two weeks also

- tupou deal close, believe we are angling for a dev deal, but tupou wants top 30

Any truth to the Blore rumour Kade.

Dunster, Herbert and Tupou even Schuster all seem to be similar type signings. All with good pedigree but all probably their last chances to crack it. Very Bennett-esque from Benji
No they are different.

Herbert clearly had lost his NRL chance, we looked for a min value signing and gave him a chance...
At min value he is worth it.

Tupou has failed at Dolphins and Easts are punting him. We shouldn't touch the guy.

Dunster was 2021. Train and trial, maybe. it's 2026 I doubt he will have anything to offer.

Schuster is a big risk. This is a lot like us signing Jamal Idris, who from memory did next to zero here and was 'community ambassador'.

Unsure if we have really signed Dunster, but signing all 3 above is some real long shots. I hope we haven't paid any significant money at all.

I’m happy to give Shuster a chance at bugger all money.
Not so sure about Dunster.
Truth is Schuster had more talent than most and buggered himself up.
If Benji can get him to his best we’ll be laughing.

Agree with all except Schuster. He isn’t even part of our FG cap, no down side

I really don't understand the Junior signing, if it happens.

We let him go, then he was dropped by the Dolphins after two games, and now he can't crack the Roosters side.

If I were his manager, I'd be recommending that he play a couple of years in the Super League to rebuild his confidence and skills.

From memory, we didn't want to lose him but we didn't want to match the Dolphins offer.

This may be last crack in the NRL and with a guy like Benji, he may actually have a crack.

Pretty good back up option tbf, especially if he can reach his potential.

I’m not sure. When a player is bouncing around clubs so early in their career, there are often discipline, training, or skill issues.

I hope Benji can help him find his best form if we re-sign him. However it sounds like he doesn't want to be a depth player, which could be a problem.

Junior T needs to prove he is top 30 and there has nothing in his game time since he left us originally to suggest he is worth a punt on. Would rather the Brain's trust at the tigers promote within then than sign Junior. Signing Schiller or Wilson De Courcey warrant more effort in signing.

If bennett couldn't get anything out of Schuster there's no way Marshall will, and Toupo leaves here, struggles at the dolphin, then same at Easts, so our genius of a coach think he's a must to get back here, any wonder we are a bottom 4 roster year after year

Cub ..think we missed the bottom 4 last year …just

Surely you aren’t too worried about Schuster ? He is a powerball ticket maybe …but he isn’t going cost the club much …

He got a top 30 NRL contract out of nowhere Rugby, at 18 or some such.
He earnt nothing, and I feel (Unfortunately) that's become his base line...
He may well have all the talent in the world, His body language during a contest
I don't see much better coming from him.

Woolf (the Current Tonga Coach) was also a factor in him going to the Dolphins.
He can't play for a coach he went to play for, And one of the best coaches in the game
I don't see him coming back to a club that gave him something for nothing and making good.
