It's a crocodile roll remember. Hang in there guys. We fight to the friggin death.

One of my benchmarks for Benji this season was for him to know his best side and to be able to win with it. That was absolutely happening.

The team is now decimated with injuries, but even so the 2nd string side hasn't performed well enough. There is a huge technical gap in the football program. Tristan Hope is also not good enough as a backup hooker, in any case, let alone for our tactical approach.

Too many players that haven't played much footy together, with too much licence to play ad-hoc. It's as simple as that. So now we haven't just lost games, we've been bashed up. Also the old problem from last year has returned where the side isn't concentrating right early in games.

Whatever was on the tactics board against the knights last season in round 1. That's what we need right now. Some of these youngsters just need to execute their game without thinking they need to be brilliant geniuses and overplaying. Even if we lose, they need to just execute 80 minutes of competent footy. I'd also consider Luai at 7 and Madden at 9, only because Hope is truly, actually rubbish.

Look, the other benchmark I had was that Benji could not allow another 6+ game losing streak to occur this season. He just cannot. He's gotta learn what to do to control the psyche of the team when guys are out injured. I LOVE the tactics with the starting side, but doing the same thing with so many reggies in the side is a catastrophe. It's these moments I actually want the insane 24/7 super intense coach at the club. I want the madman. I don't want the cool older brother right now.

I still believe, but we gotta get better tactically with a plan B.

Part of the problem of losing faith in this team is unrealistic expectations prior to the season and in the early season. From memory, a lot on this forum placed us running 9th or 10th at the end of the season. That is pretty realistic, but then WT performed like a bought one and got their hopes up.

I’ve had faith since the early 60s but only 1969 and 2005 to show for it. For Maggie’s it’s even worse !
That means your faith has to be strong and it ain’t easy.
My darling wife ( Cronulla girl who follows the Sharks) said last night, “ you may really need to look at an alternative team”
My response, “ gotta keep the faith”, plus my old favourite reply;
“ if you don’t know the difference in taste between shit and ice cream, you’re never going to enjoy ice cream “.!
