TEAM LIST vs Warriors [Round 19]

Team List
Reeks of desperation because they know the team is failing its supporters and has been for decades. At the moment they’d have to pay me to go watch them.
they had kids go free offer at dolphins game so not exactly new
we would hwve same trouble getting fans to Parramatta Stadium at the moment
LO sells itself mainly due to.it being an event to stand on the hill and have some cans

Places reporting Haywood will debut
Daily Telegraph: Wests Tigers hooker Jared Haywood is poised to make his NRL debut against the Warriors on Friday night in place of injured skipper Api Koroisau.

Haywood, who has spent the majority of this season is NSW Cup, has been highly touted as the Tigers’ future long-term hooker, with coach Benji Marshall leaning towards giving him his debut 24-hours out from their clash against the in-form Kiwi side.

The Tigers have struggled in the hooking position throughout the year when Koroisau has missed games, rotating through Josese Lanyon, Latu Fainu and Tristan Hope in his absence.

Lanyon has been named to start in Friday night’s game, with Haywood named in jersey 22 on the extended bench.

Without Koroisau in the middle of the field, the Tigers have only won one game against the Titans earlier this year.

Koroisau will miss up to the next month of football with a pectoral strain.

It is still unclear who Haywood will replace in the squad, with Fainu being the only halves cover on the bench.

I can't believe I'm saying this. I am going to the stupid game tomorrow night! What is wrong with me??? Seriously, though, if I wasn't driving the 4 1/2 hours (roadworks at Victoria Pass) to my Uncle's funeral at Pinegrove, I wouldn't be.
Pinegrove is a nice cemetery, peaceful despite being right next to the Great Western Highway.
I have a few friends buried/interned there. I grew up just a 5 minute drive away, boy that whole area has changed in the years since I left the area, back before the turn of the century.

It's lovely. Lots of friends and relos are there ❤️
I spent my late teens on Old Mt Druitt, in the mid 80s. It sure has changed!

There is 14 teams in the KOE comp.

Magpies are 7th.

They aren't blowing the lights out.

Their last 3 wins have been against the teams coming 9th, 11th and last. The roosters also had alot of their players out with players being called up to origin.
it's not like we havent had injuries that has also screwed up our reserve grade side
we had to use a number of flegg players in those games as well

That's valid, but other teams also have injuries that impact their sides. My point was that being mid table isn't exactly the definition of success...

How are the Warriors rated so highly ?
They are a good solid team, but far from unbeatable.
Which Warriors players aside from the obvious in JFH, Halasima and Jackson Ford would we want in our team when we are full strength ?

Idk mate. Maybe cos it’s past the halfway point in the season, and they are second? I mean, that’s only a hunch. I could do some deeper digging and get back to you 🤔

Get back to me.
Player for player they are way over rated.
For starters Bula is getting paid at least 3 times the amount Tuapiki is getting paid, so we should be winning that battle surely?
Our halves are getting paid much more than the Warriors halves and their 2-5 although much better than ours, is very average aside from Khan-Pereira who we could have had if we wanted him, but showed no interest.
They have some good forwards including Fusher-Harris and Jackson Ford, but Fisher-Harris is not quite the same fearsome force he was a couple of years back and Ford is very mobile for a bigger man and has a big d gone, but not someone who is going to terrify the opposition.
Leka Halasima is their big danger man and usually destroys us, but assuming Samuela Fainu is fit to play, he is surely just as good.

getting paid more is such a dumb way to judge players. It's not as if this club hasn't ever overpaid for average players before is it? Luai being paid 1.2M/year and Te-maire Martin probably being paid peanuts doesn't mean Luai is better. On form, you'd probably argue the exact opposite. Same thing for Tuapiki vs Bula. Just compare their attacking stats and you'll find that their spine shits all over us this year.

Then we move onto the pack which is clearly where they dominate us. Erin Clark is probably the form lock of the comp and Fisher Harris has had a great year. Then you've got that young buck Tanner Stowers Smith who has been deputizing for Ford and Barnett. He actually made close to 200m off the bench against the cowboys a few weeks back. You can see why they were willing to let Bunty go. Even Tyrell struggles to put up numbers like that playing close to 80 minutes.

Not to mention the hooker situation: Egan is definitely a premier top 5 DH and probably unlucky to miss out on origin this year. That back up hooker off the bench Healey is also handy too. Meanwhile we are stuck with Lanyon/Haywood/Latu for this game. We know how shit we are without Api.

2/3 of the season is done and they are still 2nd. That's despite an injury toll that rivals what we have had to deal with. They average 30 pts in attack (3rd) and 17 conceded in D (2nd). None of this is to say we can't win tomorrow: I actually think this game will be closer than what most people outside this forum think. But if we are being fair dinkum, the odds are a good reflection of where the two teams are at.
