Who is your second team?

This might have been done before but I feel like we need a distraction. Over the years I’ve tried giving up on the Magpies when at their worst and more recently the Tigers. Like most on here I have some weird inexplicable loyalty and I can’t give them up. Sucker for punishment. Instead I have tried to follow a second team and have a second chance of feeling like a winner. I don’t follow soccer/football and I gave up on rugby years ago. So for me, when the Dolphins arrived I decided they would be my second team. I was born in Brisbane but moved to Melbourne and then Sydney as a kid so I kind of have some connection. Anyway the Phins have had success for a start up NRL team so I feel better when the Tigers are at their worst. They have a great squad and are genuine finals contenders not pretenders. In saying that they got towelled up tonight by the Sharks so it feels a bit like Dejavu. Not a problem. I know what long term bad looks like. They will bounce back with their full squad next week. Sad that I can’t say the same for our Tigers. Who’s your second team?

I have 3: Cronulla, Canberra, Cowboys. Canberra and Coeboys go back to watching them closely when (uncle) Tim was coaching them, and my friend's cousin (Daley) was playing. Cronulla goes way back to primary school in the 70s. I liked them because their colours were almost the same as Dunlop Volleys 😂then, I was a teenager when ET was playing, so, you know. What hop did I have? Blonde hair, surfer body, tight shorts 💙💙💙

I don't understand the mentality of having a second team. I'm allin on the tigers until I am not, and then I will either stop watching the NRL or watch as a neutral.

I take an interest in our local team, the Dragons. The reason is the current crop of young forwards coming through are outstanding. More are on the way. We should tap into that stream.

Riff for me. It’s my community. Liked them before Ivan did what he did. Then hated them, but your hard to please if you can’t appreciate what they have done and continue to do.
I’m actually looking forward to Penrith Park opening again and seeing all the locals on the hill having a beer.

I have never had a 2nd team and never will but i can respect some other sides.I was Balmain but respected Norths Wests Newtown and Illawarra.

I had a similar mindset …I need 2 teams now I think … i want more enjoyment out of the game

I used to enjoy watching the cowboys in the Thurston/Bowen era, then came Kyle Feldt and killed that.
Its not so much who is my second team as who dont I despise. The warriors are still good in that respect.

Sometimes NZ, it’s an ANZAC thing. Especially in cricket against England and India.
ANZAC biscuits suck. They need some chocolate.
