OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

For me as someone who was highly critical and passionately offended by what he did re. Not playing and leaking to the media , I have to say for a guy to get up there and basically stand in front of the eastern side of this country , where he knows he will lead the Sydney and Brisbane news tonight …. And basically say he lost his shit … went full send and acted like a pork chop …. Took full accountability on just about the whole mess …. I dunno man what can you do but forgive the bloke. He stood in front of a bunch of blokes and basically admitted he lost all sight of the Forrest through the trees . I dunno . As someone who’s gone full send myself and torched all kinds of bridges and relationships at times , especially in my 20s… sometimes justifiable as I still hold those grudges , but others where it’s pretty embarrassing , to see a dude basically go through what I did , but in front of the whole country …
Would I have not played …. Probably not …. I probably would have taken a swing at Benji —- which is way worse .
I will say this Adam needs to go see a psychologist, as that kind of stubbornness and fight or flight , you need to work through that . Not for footy reasons but growth as a a man.
Because he got lucky IMO. He got lucky Benji is so humble and seems to genuinely care . Because anyone else , they’re in the process or torching his career right now . All because he let his anger and ego and to be honest , the losing , the fact the next gen are coming for him ….it was probably akin to a panic attack .
Personally when I get like that , it’s pure rage and overwhelming desire to torch the world . Pure fight zero flight . But he needs to see someone about it . Shits not healthy . And it will ruin his soul and any chance of a decent family life , when that happens , not because he will be violent or anything , it because when your irrational brain takes over …… it’s a bit like being blackout drunk . You know you’re doing it … but you feel completely justified torching your existence . When you come down from the adrenaline and dopamine . You realise what dickhead you are .
Hopefully he grows from this , and everyone involved is being straight up . As I think it took real balls from Adam to be contrite , and genuine …. And own it completely .
Literally 2 hrs ago , I was like Fark Adam Doueihi . That presser was genuine and accountable.

So why isn't he playing lock this week?

Man, you can't question is passion for the club. He's not too dissimilar to the great Robbie Farah.

I'm willing to forgive him. As long as he gives up playing in the halves, which he said he was prepared to do.
Yea, its hard enough following this club without grudges. I think hes just an emotional, hot headed stubborn lebbo. Met plenty them in my time.

Bloke handled it like shit, but atleast he gives a shit (despite missing the game).

Happy to.forgive and move on..

But im still shitty about the bog average bench this weekend.

Thanks for the honesty of your post. I've lost friendships that I now miss later in life cos of objectively stupid crap I wish I could go back and not do. It's very rare someone in the public eye says 'I did wrong', especially now with all the sporting 'non apologies' eg 'I apologise if anyone else was offended' etc.

Although the CEO of Origin energy saying 'I am sorry' yesterday for allowing millions of emails to be leaked, felt more insincere than if he'd kept on lying!

Brandon Smith said he wouldn’t play with him. As much of a hide someone like Smith has to say something like that. Supposedly he owed thousands of dollars to teammates at the Roosters due to gambling debts. All of that aside, it makes you wonder how many other players out there would feel the same way. If that’s the case, his value would plummet.

For players to let it go, then there must be more to it.. doesnt neccesarily need to be in a bad way either.. but for luai to joke and call him a gronk shows they arent all walking on egg shells.. which is good for the club...because they wouldnt do that if he was genuinely trying to get out of his contract.

For his and our sakes, i hope he has a blinder this weekend.

Because it seems his dummy spit got him exactly what he wanted back to half back.

If that's the case everything he said today means jack shit .....
Did you listen to the presser ? The whole thing ? The dude looked like he was about to cry . It sounded like a dude who made a potentially life changing mistake … and owned it.
If it wasn’t about standards or changing position , the only thing left is he must have felt like the club was forcing him out . I mean he would be seeing first hand what we all know, Javon and Latu are the future. His mistake was dumbfounding …. To the point where he clearly needs to see a professional as that’s literally not normal , but man not to quote Ted lasso ;
I hope that either all of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, but rather by the strength we show when and if we're ever given a second chance.
Seems pretty poignant.
Like I said the only path for me not hating him was a hat in hand , sincere apology .
I think that’s exactly what he did .
As for the half thing . Benji answered that . We need all our leaders out there switched on and putting in a performance .
He also said , that there was some standards things happening behind Benjis back that needed addressing .
I was aggressive on 2 fronts . There’s no [This word has been automatically removed]ing way Benji would have allowed the vaping thing , and standards are upheld by the leaders . Of that Benji addressed as well , that there was confusion about the standards being upheld .
My guess , dudes were doing shit when Benji wasn’t there , and the playing group to a man were saying “ someone should stop this “ instead of actually stopping ie. the things you walk past are the things you accept , and if someone should say something about a situation … you’re right … it’s you .

I take anything Luai says with a grain of salt. He’s out the door in a couple of months. What would he care? However, the big group hug does add something to the rumour that the players were in his corner.

Benji mentioned his kids were so sick they almost needed to go to hospital. Its probably been a cluster f of things and it all happened in such a wests tigers way

All very convenient, where did all the leaks come from ....if he was serious about playing lock he would have made sure Benji picked him there this week ....

I think Brandon smith is a sociopath, and as such his inability to find empathy after Adam poured his heart out , would be a reflection on himself ,re. His brain would be like “ how dare he do this to me” rather than, that was pretty dog on the team .theyre 2 different things
