Played predominantly left side with Liles on the right but was our primary kicker and did well.

Oitmann played in the Flegg development game (wing & fullback) against the Raiders 2 weeks ago so he is on the edge of selection - was rocks'n diamonds in that game.

Faingaa has been a revelation in Cup this season. I can only guess that they prioritise NRL contracted (top 30, dev, T&T) players ahead of him when they are available.
Personally I'd be contracting him to a NRL T&T over the pre-season even though he is 26/27. Yep he is fast, strong, skillful & confident. Is strong in defence but can make the odd poor decision in D but not many.
If Faingaa & Vaka Aho do not get a Train & Trial deal for the pre-season, it is pointless players even joining the Wests Magpies. These two are better than many in our NRL squad and week-in-week-out our amongst our best in Cup.

Was a dominant win against the Eels on Sunday.
Javon Andrews continued his progress at this level and was our primary playmaker including general kicking which was strong. Also thought Vaka Aho, Lachlan Broederlow (his best performance of the season), Fio Fainga'a, Solo Saukuru & Ethan Roberts were amongst our best.
As usual Tino Tavana produced a moment of magic catching a high ball in attack and offloading in the one motion to set up a try. Was strong through out too.
Big game against the 2nd placed Bears on Sunday, the best-drilled side in NSW Cup imo.

I'm confident he's rated internally and will be very chance of a T&T in the pre-season. He's starting in NSW Cup for one and if McCarthy rates him (he's now the Club FT pathways guy), I'd hope Benji listens.

He should start demanding to play NRL or he’s staying home. Benji will crack for sure.

The Wests Tigers may have endured a tumultuous past couple of months, but their NSW Cup side continues to provide plenty of optimism with the club’s next generation of stars showing that the future remains bright.
That was on full display over the weekend as the Western Suburbs Magpies climbed to eighth on the reserve-grade ladder with a commanding 50-24 victory over the Parramatta Eels.
Headlined by recent NRL debutants Ethan Roberts (67 metres, 19 tackles), Josese Lanyon (84 run metres, 20 tackles) and Javon Andrews (two try assists, three line-break assists, 18 points), the Magpies once again put on an attacking masterclass.
But it was outside back Solomone Saukuru who stole the show at Lidcombe Oval, as he continued his standout 2026 NSW Cup campaign with another dominant display.
Knocking on the door of an NRL debut, the 21-year-old came up with three try assists, three line-break assists, two tackle busts, 90 running metres and a try.
The competition’s leading try-scorer with 20 four-pointers, Saukuru also sits atop the NSW Cup leaderboard in line-breaks (19) and intercepts (3), underlining his credentials as one of the most dangerous attacking weapons on the edge.

If it's due to defensive shortcomings, that's as much on the coaching & development of him as a player than anything else.
Plenty of star NRL outside backs have had defensive shortcomings in their early 20s hey.

It's a shame if defense is holding him back, I've seen the promise in attack, did the coaching staff last off season highlight this area to work on and he can't get it right.
Remains to be seen if it's a coaching blame, big lump of a lad could it be a speed to react in defense issue, some solid guys have this problem Leilua/Suli rings a bell, not a fly on the wall at Concord so no judgement possible.

That’s what “SCARES” me, does Benji watch and not care or not watch ? If he does watch then FFS keep an open mind and reward left field surprise packet players that are showing talent and ability by giving them a chance. Take notice please Benji . . Players that age are playing for love of the game and some have just slipped through the cracks by misfortune, injury , wrong place wrong time , overlooked opportunities selections etc and plenty of gems can be discovered a bit later than 22

I'm looking forward to seeing quite a few of the squad go up to NRL squad and Development next season. With 7 (?) vacancies in NRL squad we will have to mostly promote from within rather than buy in. If we don't the Bears will grab.
