My take was it was a cheeky rumour but....
I found this about our club and HGB...
'The Wests Tigers' identity as a joint venture is legally protected until at least 2030.Name & Mascot Restrictions: A strict heritage deed prohibits HBG from altering the "Wests Tigers" name, changing the mascot, or completely removing the Balmain Tiger elements to return fully to the "Western Suburbs Magpies" branding before 2030.
Once the heritage deed expires in 2030, the legal blockades lift. This will allow HBG—who holds a 90% majority stake—to theoretically re-negotiate the club's name, visual identity, or home stadium allocations if they choose to shift away from the traditional joint-venture model.
Go look how often we play in the white jerseys as opposed to our home orange ones which apparently was the wrong type of orange or whatever and HBG sacked richo.

They own 90%, they will get what they want. You can see that it’s just managed decline until then, fully allowing them to justify blowing it all up.
Its absolutely this mate. 2030 is the yr it will end. The Fiduciary duty of HBG has been jettisoned years ago. Was it this year that liquor and gaming opened an investigation into the running of the club? No one with any practical experience can look at wests tigers and see a company operating in good faith any more.

At least they will finally put us out of our misery. If its not Wests Tigers I'm not supporting it. Don't think I will support another club...will just become an interested observer and back whoever is playing against the roosters, dogs & eels.

I think if PVL is still running the nrl in 2030 5ere will be no way he lets it revert back to western suburbs , he. Has stated this in the past and I think he will not allow it to happen , could be wrong but in 2030 he may bring in a few things that HBG can’t control , Wests Tigers name and logo remains for a further 30 years so this western suburb push is put to bed , these idiots running the joint probably be all dead by then so nobody will be remembering Balmain or wests , the only supporters will be Wests Tigers supporters , they will only know it as is , sometimes people like our magpies board just need to use the power they have then along comes someone with a hammer , like PVL , he used his hammer earlier this year when he told those idiots to put the board they sacked back on , that would have been the biggest slap in the face to the idiots who did the deed , and remember Barry O was sacked but he is still there and seems to be going ok , why you ask , he is mates with the hammer man , any crap he just report it to PVL if needed
