I think when Richardson committed 15 years to Leichhardt it spelt his death knell with the board - not hard to figure out why they were not happy about it. For those who think they are not more concerned with preserving the past at the expense of the present the under use of Leichhardt speaks volumes.
No one can give a logical reason for not using Leichhardt once renovated other than the fact that it is linked to the wrong side of the JV even though it is considered one on the best "home" grounds in the NRL to play at.
They are masquerading as being supporters of Wests Tigers and 2030 is getting closer.
Whats three more seasons of poor results to endure when they have overseen 15.

Dont disagree, but the NRL guidance on this issue is non existant now. Not that long ago the NRL ground / stadiums guide had 25k as minimum. I really, really wish the NRL would get on the front foot and give guidance / standards for future- ground size, number fo sydney teams, lower level and junior comps, etc.

Amen to that- 1 x home ground. Remember even the great Shane Richardson said he wanted 1 home ground and then signed on with Leichhardt, Campbelltown and Parramatta stadiums.

The Federal $20m, State $10m and Inner West $10m levels of govt contributed to the upgrade of Leichhardt Oval and yet we have the CEO advising he plans only to play 3 games at the venue. If anyone needed proof of a disconnect between WTs, the various levels of govt and our supporters, here it is. This is extremely disappointing because supporters vote with their wallets and WTs' games at Leichhardt Oval are nearly always well attended against out of Sydney teams. Plus the atmosphere at Leichhardt Oval is superb. Why do we not play to our strengths especially when we are facing tough times? Surely you take advantage of every opportunity including making it hard for opposition teams by playing at Leichhardt.

Because our owners are run by idiots who are protected no matter how bad they perform , have all the upgrades done then only playing 3 games is ridiculous, if the idiots running our club had any brains they would run a 50/50 split for both grounds ,these idiots still have their wests magpies team playing at lidcome oval , they can go watch them play there or use some more brains and play their games at Leichhardt or Cambo before first grade , so we look like one club , at the moment it looks like 2 clubs Wests Tigers and Wests Magpies , idiots , the nrl need to slam down on them and set some rules they have no choice but to follow , first one 50/50 split home games , second Wests Tigers in first grade and reserve grade , 3 play them on the same day where ever possible , 4 the nrl to appoint 2 independent board member to wests tigers board and report any shifty shit or interference from HBG idiots back to the nrl so they can jump on issues before it’s in the media , , this club will never go forward when it is controlled by one sided bunch of fools who are stuck in the 70/80 s Burgges and co need to go , , I think while the nrl leave a 1% chance wests magpies could return at the expense of wests tigers these fools won’t give up , I think the first thing to do would be to inform them the licence agreement coming up in 2030 will have a clause inserted that the wests tigers will remain for the next 30 years just to shut the old fools down , but also have first and reserve play under wests tigers , it’s time to clean this shit mess up

You cant ignore where we are at the with 2030 looming It's not an equal partnership and the WTs brand looks as confusing as ever. HBG ex board members are the ones who telegraphed what they believed was the plan.
And nothing that has happened since has done anything to suggest WTs in currents state is a priority or has a long term future.

Wests Tigers can be put down and a new franchise outside Sydney can begin with whatever brand they want- and i seriously doubt it will be Tiger. Happy everyone?????? PS im just as p'ed off with the stupid debenture system as everyone else, but you lot will never be happy.

There.was.never a heritage deed until 2014...that changed and.now the possibilty exists the name.colours and mascot.can be changed in.four short years...whether a license is granted if that were to occur unlilely...but maybe KOE????

Hahah , The Tigers brand will,never be dropped by the nrl , it’s to good a brand to just drop , this club Wests Tigers ( that’s who we are ) should be run and treated as one club , doesn’t matter HBG own it , it’s the wests tigers but old fossils want the magpie back it’s that simple , once he club runs like one club it will go well , but now and the past 15 years it’s been run like it’s 2 clubs , sorry that doesn’t work

Trouble is, even after renovations, both Leichhardt and Campbelltown will not be to NRL standards with seating numbers. I recall 25k is the magic number. I suggested previously we use Leichhardt for NRL and Campbelltown for the lower grades seeing as they're building a COE there for the lower grades and district. Lidcombe should be given flick.

Most revenue for the NRL comes from media rights. Leichhardt and Campbelltown will be fine renovated. We just have to use them and do so equally.

The other issue is what business case was put forward by the club for the funding. Govt in all its forms has an obligation to achieve the best outcome in terms of the taxpayer or ratepayer dollar. The public should be demanding accountability from the WTs' Board.

The word "Wests" needs to be dropped off the name. It's an absolute marketing disaster; no other team has a compass point attached to their name. It's a negative word, that's where the sun drops at the end of the day. A continual reminder of reinforced negativity in many ways other than a curtain of darkness dropping on us..
