Bit of drift and good turn, probably ol’’mates best ever delivery, but it’s amazing how hitting the top of off will get a wicket at any pace or variation.

I forgot to mention he played all over it like a T20 shot from a young bloke with little concept of batting for more than a few overs at a time.
A 50 overs match is like a test match for some of these new guys, a couple of wickets fall and all of a sudden you can have a kid who’s average innings is 5 overs per innings now looking at 40.

As long as the bowler isn't completely removed from the contest. Yeah 2-3 day Tests are not great for the game, but 5 day bat stat-padding sessions are worse.
I feel like a lot of it is to do with the actual degeneration of quality Test batsmen due to heavy T20 schedules on dead tracks. They get on to a pitch that's doing a bit and they shit themselves.

Bit of a perfect storm IMO. The new ball is moving a lot more than it has previously thanks to changes in the Kookaburra and pitches, combine that with less opportunity for long form cricket and changes in technique. I think top order batting has never been more difficult.
