Yes though it was a reserve grade Roosters side that conceded 50, but still valid I suppose. A team winning from outside the top 4 has to happen soon surely and if Knights win it will be a first for a team to go from wooden spoon to premiers in one season. Roosters made the GF from the spoon in one season back many years ago, but I don’t think they won it.
The video replay showing the faces of the panthers players strolling along with their back to the penalty….then the look on their faces when he ran past them, it was gold.

But another dumb rule. A quick tap should be allowed for every penalty or not at all. So many inconsistencies with the rules.
There is no consistency at all, I think that could be a big factor for the judiciary. Either a hip drop is a bin or send off every time or it’s a fine every time. You can’t base rules on injury outcomes, in a contact sport injuries will happen not always a deliberate act. Is a deliberate foul play without injury ok but an accidental injury held to higher penalty?

Panthers' heads weren't in the game after Cleary's broken leg. They reminded me of the Tigers at times, and Yeo reminded me of Gallen at his worst - hogging the ball with tons of pointless hitups.

I have backed Newcastle every week in the finals they look dominant. Their edge back rowers, centres and wingers are in some fine form. I can’t see Marzhew defending Mark N it’s a bad mismatch. Front rowers also favour roosters

Onya Newy, as a born and bred Novocastrian I am really pleased for the whole Hunter region. And congratulations to Coach Holbrook and his team, not mean feat to go from wooden spooners to grand finalists.
Enjoy the week but it’s not over yet so come ready to play again on Sunday.
I’m thinking it could be a cracking game, at least some different teams in the mix.
And Tigers, see what’s possible if everyone works together for the betterment of the club. Lots of lessons there for us to ponder.

Knights deserve to be there but..
They played Rabbits without Walker and Ward
Warriors without Metcalf and Boyd
Panthers without Cleary
Their goal line D has impressed me the most but they did have subpar halves to deal with.
They're not the team to win the ruck. At this point I can't see them stopping Whyte in D or get past Radley in the ruck..
I hope it's a warm and dry track unlike today.

They played with 12 men for half the game against a basically full strength panthers team (less cleary).
They also have a tonne of injuries of their own.
