Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Its a joke. If you earn 7th or 8th over 26 rounds, why the hell should you run the risk of missing the finals to 9th or 10th? It goes against every fabric of sport, not just rugby league. Its a disgraceful concept.

I can see it now, Tigers finish 7th, finally do enough to play finials, then lose this bullshit wild and game to 10th placed Parra and our drought continues.
It’s just reality unfortunately. The comp will be 20 teams in no time and the thought of wild card games appeals to the broadcasters a heck of a lot more than the standard top 8 that’s been going on for years

Not that I agree with it but the game has to keep evolving as time goes on…But I’m struggling to see how Perth will even compete next year, and PNG after about 2 years when the honeymoon phase ends as it is

Judging by the amount of reports that were saying that Tyson, his wife and kids were well entrenched in the Newcastle area and that his wife had a successful business there makes the move to Sydney a bit of a story.

This can only be good news as it shows that the Frizells are taking this very seriously and that at least on the surface it doesn't look like Tyson is treating this like a contract to simply top up his retirement nest egg.

Other news around the place is that all concerned parties are not opposed to a contract extension if all goes well next season is also heartening news.
"Successful business"

I think she could run an online clothing store from any city.

It’s neither good or bad news. He’s moving to Sydney like almost any other player that would have signed from the Knights to a Sydney team because what player wants a 5 hour daily commute. We’re setting the bar very low if that constitutes a pat on the back.

The game is constantly changing under PVL. You never know what you are gonna get each year. IMO the game doesnt need to keep evolving, it needs to go back a little to its grass roots. Not all the way back, just pull the breaks a little on this constant crap PVL does. The fans need to push back somehow, the coaches need to push back. They must hate it, they cant plan a roster or even a preseason properly because we have no idea how the game will change any given year. I hate it. The game can even change a heap mid season due to instructions changing to the ref's. Its an absolute joke.

Fans can’t do anything. Except not watch, and no one wants to do that. The clubs could though if they stood their ground. If Bennett, Belllamy, Cleary, Robinson and Stuart all came together, I think the game might take notice. The sad thing is, none of it is for the benefit of the game. It’s all for PVL’s ego.

Foxsports article saying that Moses Leota can speak with rival teams from November 1. Penrith are prioritising Cleary and Yeo before him. Also JDB is looking for an NRL lifeline. I thought JDB was ordinary at Parra this year, which will make it difficult for him.

We’ve just signed two 35 year olds. We don’t need a third.

PVL is only interested in the bottom line, and that’s the value of the game. The game itself I doubt he even watches it. By continuing to change the product he gets media attention that generates interest. At some stage it will all come crashing down

He doesn’t watch games, he watches spreadsheets.
