Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

[achilles]

Thought it has been a quiet off-season on the men's team front so thought I'd do some quick research on actual announcements since our last game.

8 Sep – John Morris (Asst Coach – Defence) departs.
15 Sep – Solomone Saukuru re-signed in top 30 for 27 & 28.
15 Sep – Twal, Koroisau & Makasini win key awards at Club Gala.
25 Sep – Madden selected in PM XIII (Seyfarth later added).
2 Oct – Aho, Andrews, Filipi-Talisau & Duncombe win key awards at Senior Pathways night.
2 Oct – Kurt Mann signed to top 30 for 27.
4 Oct – Jake Averillo named MOM in State Championship Final for Dolphins.
6-7 Oct – Following players selected in RLWC squads – Koroisau, Turuva, Saukuru, Lanyon, Twal, Sukkar, Pearce-Paul, Latu Fainu & Glassie.
12 Oct – Tyson Frizell signed to top 30 for 27.

On top of this, plenty of anticipation around potential extensions for Samuela, Latu & Pole, speculation around winger/centre James Schiller being looked at by the club & who new Assistant Coach/es & Pathways Coaching Director will be.

Kinda like the current administration are doing an ok job?

Great work thanks 🙏

Question do you know how many top 30 we have now ?

26 who we know of officially.

I’d be pretty confident Sukkar is another but no confirmation. Don’t know what contracts Taupau-Moors & Godinet are upgraded to next season either (ideally Development).

Development Players 2027:
Jack Attard
Siotame Havea
Tino Tavana
Christian Taupau Moors
Pheonix Godinet

Frizzell please recruit Matt Croker and you can have one of the jobs for the boys from benji

I think Saukuru will end up in the backrow

Hmmmm. Lazy in broken play defence… lazy in defence… “I think he will end up on the back row”…

It’s a quiet offseason, please help me understand

It’s where he played his best in the juniors. Needs to improve his defense but so does any rookie really

Good summary BWG - add in Skelton announcing he’s leaving us - looks like he’s returning to the Dogs.

Not endorsing it as his future role, though I thought that he looked okay when playing two spots further in as an edge forward in KOE for a good part of 2025.

Improve his defence?
He has minimal understanding of what defence is.
No way he plays backrow successfully in the NRL.

You don’t think he will improve his defense? He’s played 4 NRL games

hopefully he can as he can score a try just cant defend at all at present

He has no idea how to defend. Completely lost.
He seems to know it too as he gets upset when he misses easy tackles. That leads me to believe he has been working on it. Sheeesh….
Australia will attack his edge this weekend and will see massive success doing so.
