Exactly. The key is “don’t have to”. Most players bend over backwards to join them and “take unders”. Anyway, the roosters have Toby Rodwell a very highly rated young half back who has already played some first grade.

You always hear it about MM. How he’ll take players away from the club. Players have no free will. A lot of them aren’t very smart though, and probably easy manipulated, so maybe it shouldn’t be a mystery as to why.

The club's glaring need for 2028 is a hard-running middle.

Hopefully that is a Pole extension but until that happens, we just have a core of Terrell, Sione, Seyfarth & Twal on-contract for 2028.

Pole, Royce & Frizell are only contracted for next season at this stage and Taupau-Moors will still be too green.

90% Pole extends but if he doesn't Moses Leota could come into the frame or an Oregon Kaufusi.

I would be a little disappointed to lose him as depth but that would be a good move for him. A couple years gaining confidence and his body maturing he will come back a handy player. I think he will end up a mobile middle personally, so his best is years off.

It would leave us very skinny in backrow depth. Ethan Roberts becomes 1st drop basically but I can see Frizell shifting in-game if Samuela or KPP had to go off. I hope Sione stays in the middle.

Nothing off-contract now to pick up unless a club let a player go who is on-contract for 2027 (Tom Fletcher from Souths or Elijah Salesa-Leaumoana from the Knights - similar age, ability and pecking order at current club to Sukkar).

We let go of players like Skelton and Sukkar what depth are we going to have?

It can't be cap management these players are on peanuts and Latu should be willing to take a paycut considering we have supported him through his injuries

I hope Sione stays in the middle too. He has all the attributes to be a top liner and our best middle. Very disappointed he has progressed further than what he has.

Depth players might be wanting more than depth money, never been a better time to be an average player

I think Pole will at least wait to see what Stefano does. Stefano seems likely to head to the Roosters based off Triple M podcast last week. That would see the Storm with plenty of cap and roster space to roll out the red carpet for Fonua.

We should be going all out for Pole, he was very very good last year for us and is entering his prime.
I think his appearance on Terrell may podcast was a pretty clear sign he has strong loyalty to WT and would like to stay

Yep was agreed by Sam & the Roosters to stay at $1.4m but pulled the offer after a last minute squeeze by his management

For $1.4m I want a package deal, Walker Jr and the Walker Brothers, they must have more to contribute to the game, I mean they were years ahead of everyone with their short drop out which is now just about mandatory. 🤣

Id keep sukkar around, definitely improved this year and we have no depth on the edge, hopefully he can add a bit more impact tho with another off season to bulk up a bit

And removal of block plays, they are true innovators yet they can’t get an NRL gig.
Obviously you can’t be too left field in our game which is why most teams run the same formats and plays !
And all coaches have to do the same courses to qualify.
