They dont care about the clubs success. They only care about control.

That is somewhat true if they are in with support the debenture system, but also the reason why the club consistently can't compete with the successful clubs who have people running their organizations that are selected on merit and are accountable for results.

They don’t even care about control . It’s about having a throughput to nostalgia town . Most couldn’t give 2 shits about wests tigers , only really want to reminisce about the glory days … which was really honestly 45-50 years ago. Which shows the age . It’s literally about some archaic Balmain v wests thing that hasn’t existed since Gareth Ellis was playing for the club. And “letting the dogs win” . Reality ….. the people they’re not letting win are their grandkids and the next generation .
I’m going to say it again . Another notch in the boomer belt of “I got mine , stuff everyone else “ , along with free secondary education , the pension , and affordable housing . Amongst a million other things .
