He's back! Great that he took the pre season off the media to recharge. Had a great game on Saturday, so it was all worth it. He seems like a wise man (although I have heard him say some dumb things on his podcast).
Yeah mate we'll be in the grand final. Best be saving up money for a trip to Sydney in October. You should buy those tickets now in advance as it's a certainty.
It's only week 2 and he's already lost the dressing room. That Doueihi try has wooden spoon vibes about it. It was soft like some of our forwards in the wooden spoon years, putting in minimal effort Steflopo Utoikaflopu style.
Finally got around to watching the replay. Samuela Fainu was insane. Him and Luai had the Cowboys right side all at sea. No more Tiny, so Makasini will be rounding off that edge. I feel like it could be one of the best edges in the comp. Once Masi builds his combo with them, it's going to be...
Latu just learned an important lesson. If you are injured frequently, doesn't matter how good you are, someone could rise up and take your spot. I still think he will become a great NRL player, but it may take longer than expected.
Adam Doueihi himself is a perfect example of this. Had to play...
A sign of a good team is having poor moments/periods in a game and still winning big. Melbourne last year never looked like premiership winners to me but they were clinical and fit enough to get the job done and win the right moments (except at the very end).
Was away Thursday to Sunday so didn't get to see any football this weekend. Managed to watch the highlights, doesn't really give a good gauge of how we played. Interested to see the full replay later, I get the feeling I'll be impressed.
Newcastle 2025 were one of the worst attacking sides ever. They were full of offensive weapons all over the park yet none of them looked like they had met each other. Matty Johns talked a lot about KPP and how he was being coached wrong. Proof is there in the pudding with his debut for us.
That's because they ask dumb questions designed to trigger people. Post-game on NRL360 last year, Mitchell Moses was interviewed as PotM, and Buzz Slothfield asked him about Dylan Brown's contract.
Awesome that he got named at starting centre in our first game of 2026. Haven't been this excited about a young player like this since James Tedesco. I know it was just a trial but what he did against Penrith was outrageous. Masi be bussing.
Luke L has always had a crazy good yardage game. What I want to know is if he as done work on catching bombs, because he has been terrible under the high ball every game I have seen him. Not as bad as Mason but I think they had the same coach.
No point playing him if he is injured. He was a liability last year trying to push through injuries, getting injured mid-game, then causing chaotic backline reshuffles. We have enough depth to cover him, there is no rush in getting him back.
Makasini played most of his juniors at left centre from what I saw. I don't like the idea of breaking up the edge of Luai, Fainu and May. It looked good last season and again in the pre-season. That's where the majority of our points will come from. I also don't like the idea of playing Masi out...
The players who were off Benji were the senior players who themselves had rank attitudes. Bateman, Klemmer, who else I don't remember as I've wiped that era from my memory. We brought those guys here to improve standards then they turned out to be a problem themselves.
Drinky is basically the pre-Benji Doueihi of fullbacks. Defence is optional and sometimes you just pretend to defend. Absolute weapon with ball in hand but my god his defensive efforts would drive me mad if he played on our team.
