Well more he screwed us when he left early. He may have made the roster work for him over time, but it's worse, not just busted players, when you recruit for a guy who leaves after 1.5 years. Nobody is on a 1.5 year contract. And he made key decisions about the Big 4 that affected us for years...
Whilst that is fun, isn't it also fairly common amongst NRL clubs? Most players don't last at the same team 10 seasons.
Even Tedesco, "Roosters stalwart" wasn't playing for them in 2017 when this thread began.
I agree with the first part, and the second part, with an edit:
"We sill stay within 12 for a SHORT while and probably tire EARLY and concede MANY late tries because of it.
So within 12 for the EARLY part of the game, within 240 at the finish."
Yeah but 1/15 is ALSO infinitely better than 0/15. My point is: it's rather slim pickings, which is to be expected, and although I would welcome a Brad Arthur appointment, I would compel myself to have very low expectations. BA is not a proven winner, he's a decent coach who can sometimes get...
Slightly better than zero I suppose.
It's been a very long time since I've totally written off a match, i.e. Tigers have next to zero chance of winning and I'm just hopeful for something respectable. That was my normal for Balmain in the 90s.
Somehow there are higher expectations these days...
This is where a sneaky $10 on Tigers is possibly worth it.
A good decade ago Sharks had a wicked losing streak and were paying something crazy like $8.50 head-to-head. I had $20 on Sharks and they lost in golden pt to Cowboys. Still worth it though for he almost bragging rights.
Harsh. He has won premierships at 3 clubs plus trophies at NSW and NZ. Tim Sheens by comparison has only won 4 Premierships over a much longer career.
Clearly Madges' approach has a short half-life but to give him no credit is harsh.
I'm not making an argument specifically for or against Brad Arthur, just pointing out he has a less than stellar record and that's where we're at as a club.
And our previous 2 coaches to Sheens/Benji both won the comp after leaving us.
