That’s a very fair comment and no doubt the players (and managers) do not want a draft. I get the perspective. It’s a balance between player vs system and I think it’s skewing a little too far one way at the moment. Just my opinion.
Because to pry the elite players (or any player) away from the top 4-5 sides you need to pay overs: paying overs with a limited cap means your depth suffers. they want to win a premiership.
There’s only 1 premier each year and a lot of players aren’t “happy” unless they have a chance at it. Having a salary cap only disadvantages the weaker teams in this regard.
