I think we are getting his development spot on at the moment. Keep him playing Cup rest of this year against men without the scrutiny of NRL. 2027 he will get some time up there.
Great game to be at and watch. A few points...
The complete class of Latu was on show. He straightens so well and creates space for those outside him, and is always a threat (run, pass, kick or offload). Him and Andrews in the halves should be given every chance to develop with the hope of them...
Errors, 6 agains and the inability to defend them killed us today. There was a lack of defensive intent at times and some of the Dragons players just powered through us at will. They had very tall, skilful and strong outside backs that we struggled to contain.
The first 15 minutes after half...
Yep. Let Latu play halfback in Cup for the rest of the year. Chance of him and Javon taking us deep into finals there and both getting valuable reps. Will be down at the ground tomorrow and I hope to see those 2 carve up.
Huge clash tomorrow for the Flegg boys. The Bunnies got up over the Panthers today, which means a win tomorrow puts us equal on points with Dragons and Panthers. We have better +/- than Panthers, but would need a win of 25 or more to go past Dragons on differential.
Not much at all between 1st...
Last year he was 2nd row pretty much all season. But has been at centre or wing this year. I think his way in at our club would be through the outside backs.
Good yardage carry, lots of power, skillful, runs a great line. Defence is still the area of his game with a question mark on it.
Don't know what Saukuru needs to do to get a run in the NRL. This was a perfect week to blood him and give Masi a break. Can then gauge whether Saukuru can make the jump or not to NRL standard. Coming off contract, we are going to have to either extend him blindly or watch him go off elsewhere...
@jrtiger or anyone else, do you know much about Matthew Barakat's style of game play? Traditional game managing half/Ball runner, etc.?
Picked up for Jersey Flegg from Doggies according to NBWT. I'd heard the name before and that he was highly regarded coming through their junior ranks.
In the James Graham interview, that was the one position he really distanced himself from. Said he doesn't see himself as a lock at all. 5/8 his preferred position at his fittest.

Only saw bits and pieces as my reception was dodgy on the train, but we were woeful from what I did see. Dumb penalties, dropped balls, forward passes and not willing to hit hard when defending our goal line. Looks like we got what we deserved this week.
Anyone know why Logan Brookes hasn't...
