LIVE GAME Round 25 v Cowboys

Very good stats as always, but his impact could be much better if he just rests from the 30th minute to the 50th minute each game.

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Eels starting forward pack and bench last night was much smaller than ours today, so extra size alone is not the answer. You need players with aggression and a strong desire for collision, the Eels have a few of them with the likes of Hopgood, Jack Williams etc. Who in our current forwards...

    Latu Fainu #282

Latu looked very sharp again today until his dropped ball and HIA. Although his passing game is crisp and creates opportunities for others, we need to see him taking on the line much more often as his powerful running game is a big asset.

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think we need to persist with Fonua Pole as he’s one of our better ball running middles, but geez today again demonstrated how passive he is when defending aggressive ball runners such as Taumalolo in the early exchanges. Surely we are looking to come up with a plan to reduce the workload and...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Until we find more players who are willing to demonstrate good defensive line speed and hit hard, we are going to continue to continue to leak points too easily. I can’t see it being an easy fix as most of our forwards are passive defenders, none of them hit hard very often.

LIVE GAME Round 25 v Cowboys

He is generally quite a solid defender and has a good offload on him, but lacks the explosive speed to make clean line breaks. I don’t think he will be our problem, but today highlights we are still too timid defending in the middle and struggle to contain classy speed men, particularly on our...

LIVE GAME Round 25 v Cowboys

Our defence was terrible, struggled to contain their bigger forwards such as Taumalolo through the middle and struggled to stop their speed men on the edges. Does the inclusion of KPP and To’a stop these defensive problems ? KPP should help, but it doesn’t solve our lack of line speed in the...

Charlie Murray has been very good so far today.

    OFFICIAL Jersey Flegg Cup

I’m not 💯 convinced on Haywood just yet. He’s still only 19 playing regularly and generally in the top 4-5 players at Jersey Flegg level, so that’s usually an indicator that the player is going places and hopefully for us that is correct. However I find his dummy half play boring and predictable...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He’s not the perfect solution, but rather than spending what would likely be 800-900k on someone like NAS, Hamlin-Uele would offer plenty of size and aggression at around half the cost.

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

One of those players would be nice, big it’s hard to see us getting any of them. NAS would be a possibility if we offered him enough money, but as much as he would make our forward pack more imposing, is he worth big money at this late stage of his career ? IF we could offload Royce and not have...

OFFICIAL Pathways - KOE General Discussion

Big Mak continues to show glimpses of the massive talent he possesses. It’s hard to say how soon he will be ready for regular NRL, but it certainly looks like it will be sooner than later. Kit is very hard to get a read on as he always shows glimpses of what he’s capable of, but he’s had a very...

I was meaning Pole and Sione Fainu, accidentally typed Sam.

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Two middles who are currentlly available for 2027 in Liam Henry and Sam Hughes were both underwhelming tonight. Watching them both I couldn’t help but think what do they do that Alex Twal doesn’t do and they do not have the x-factor of Pole or Sam Fainu. I think most of us agree that signing...

OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I wouldn’t say Galvin played badly tonight, but he is still a long way off his peak form for us last season. The Bulldogs dominated the yardage battle, had plenty of momentum and their spine led by Galvin failed to capitalise. At this present time Doueihi is a superior number 7, no ifs and buts...
