Jayden "Bud" Sullivan #278

a massive week in this man's career. second chances rarely come around so quick.

Bud will come onto a strong left edge that has been instrumental in us winning two in a row. he takes the place of a rookie who has left him for dead.

he was diabolical against Canberra, there's no other way to describe it. but this week he gets the chance to play second fiddle to Sezer and call for the ball when he sees something. that should suit him, but if he plays within himself again then I don't see us winning.

the biggest thing for Sullivan is running the ball. not once have I seen him just pin the ears back and try and use his speed and footwork to trouble other defenders. if he fails to do that again the Dolphins have so much speed out wide that they will cover our left edge with ease.

a lack of minutes these last two weeks plus a chance to make good on Marshall's faith in him should have him chomping at the bit. this week is so crucial for his career that if he fails to fire then England is going to become a very viable career option.
I don't understand why he was in the 17 and didn't get a run. Same with Kepoa.

In a game where we were under the pump defensively - Benji made the right call to only use his best defenders.

Neither Bud or AJ were going to improve our defence - and therefore stayed on the bench as emergencies in case of late injuries

It was a situational decision - and the correct one.

Imagine Bud getting hooked mid game for Latu this weekend and Latu going on to help win the game...

Benji made the right call. He managed his rotations based on how the game was being played out and what was needed.

He focused on middle rotations and left the backrow to play 80mins.

Who should’ve come off for Bud and AJ?

Just because you name them on the bench doesn’t mean they should be used just to waste an interchange rotation.

I would have preferred a better balanced bench .

Bud, in my non intelligent opinion, was a rebound buy.. like a rebound relationship...... however- hope he does well...... proves us all wrong..

The other side of the bridge is.... we beat them without using 17 players. Rare in the modern game. Very rare.
The week before we beat a 14 man Cronulla team. The bench use is dictated by the flow of the game mainly. Obviously we stayed healthy and we have fit forwards.

This week's bench looks a lot better to me for what it's worth.

Agree. But last week Twal wasn’t a selection option. AJ was next man up & if Latu was selected doubt he gets a run anyway given how Benji used his bench.
