He announced to the club yesterday afternoon he was either retiring or leaving . Either way not at manly next year .Which one are you referring too? The Eagles know how to have a good falling out.
Never forget when they had that great team in the mid 2000s, when he refused to take unders to stay and he got offside with all the rest of the squad because they all thought they had a gentleman's agreement. They lost some real quality players then who were either forced out cause of the cap or just left cause they were angry with him.Pencil neck has always chased the money which is why he nearly left years but had to reneg when Manly threw a bottomless pit of money at him to get him to change his mind.Good player but many Manly supporters dislike him the same way they disliked Bob Fulton and for the same reasons.
If Brooks is the controlling half it'll be 2021 Tigers 2.0. Five one out runs and a bomb.He announced to the club yesterday afternoon he was either retiring or leaving . Either way not at manly next year .
He said last night no team put forth a contract offer including manly ( I think the teams interested in him were waiting to see how genuine the interest was to move on - they were reluctant to be used as a bargaining tool) .
Then manlys top brass got wind of the news (DCE said he was negotiating with the football manager and coach ) , and went on 360 and offered him a 2 year deal . That could be miscommunication or it could be saving face/ trying to spin the narrative .
In saying everything above DCE also said he’d made his mind up in December and was trying to figure out how to drop the news/ not have it derail the season . And I think when the papers couldn’t get blood from a stone re. Galvin and Luai , they turned to DCE. And he just got in front of it , and let the cat out of the bag .
My guess next year the halves for manly will be Large and Brooks . Based on the pathway the eagles made to the large family before they went across .
From what I’ve seen of Onitoni in SG ball , he’s a long way off first grade right now .
But I guess this is how it is …
I'm torn on this, please don't get me wrong I'd never wish Ill on anyone and honestly the first 2 rounds last year I developed a man crush on Olam, but he's cooked, he will never be the same and other teams will be testing him, he is a great guy and good leader to the younger guys, though I personally hope he retires. He's had an amazing career, we need someone who can get into the week to week grind with out breaking down every other week. If he plays again it'll be on busted knees I just can't see how he could have any impact in first grade the way his body is. I hope he proves me wrong, I love the way he smashed blokes in defence and just ran it from the back fence, I just can't see it happening though.Anyone heard anything re Justin Olam? Talks I’ve seen of him possibly returning to play?
Could be why talks with Taylan may have stalled.
I wouldn't read too much into what this kid says.Anyone heard anything re Justin Olam? Talks I’ve seen of him possibly returning to play?

Give him credit for the variety in his game, you forgot about the grubber kick into the legs of the opposition. If Brooks is the controlling half it'll be 2021 Tigers 2.0. Five one out runs and a bomb.
Come on, sometimes it got through and went dead in goal before then bouncing over the fence .. good times 😊 👍Give him credit for the variety in his game, you forgot about the grubber kick into the legs of the opposition.
They mean stuff all...I don't like the coach /ceo/ ballboys blah.blahContracts don't mean much nowadays, I'm sure there are clauses as well. Never say never
He was right not to. He was reportedly on 55k at the time, negotiating his next contract. The rest of the squad were long time players who had been on good dollars (sure not necessarily their maximum value) for many years. Easier to not take full pay when you have already set yourself up financially. DCE would have still been living week to week and no guarantee of the duration of his career.Never forget when they had that great team in the mid 2000s, when he refused to take unders to stay and he got offside with all the rest of the squad because they all thought they had a gentleman's agreement. Moussa said last week (official...no bs rumour) that Olam was still working on his rehabAnyone heard anything re Justin Olam? Talks I’ve seen of him possibly returning to play?

Maybe its a choice btwn Olam or May. Maybe. This is the gossip thread. Right.Moussa said last week (official...no bs rumour) that Olam was still working on his rehab
Just what we need a 37 year old crippled centre.
A choice ?Maybe its a choice btwn Olam or May. Maybe. This is the gossip thread. Right.
The Chad is rather you in the centres for Wests Tigers than a bloke with 2 shonky knees who now turns like a truck and wouldn’t beat any of our NRLW players in a race over 20,50 or 100 metres. Why not both?
Thats the theme of my post Vicious. But before I respond - is Olam 37 years old? Let's start from here. I mean. I can look it up. Just I got weeds to pull.A choice ?
One is a 37y.o crippled has been, the other is a young bloke ready to rilp and tear like his brother is already doing for us.
Who do you choose AHX ?
