Latu Fainu #282

He’s still a kid and got excitable. We made some dumb plays but we hung tough. That impresses me and I’m sure it will reap dividends down the line.
I think Benjis comment re the ref was quite pertinent. I don’t like whinging about refs but he seemed to give them extra latitude in the ruck, especially slowing down the play the ball, but maybe I’m just a biased old Tiger.
I feel disappointed but not down.
PS, you can now see why JL was more effective at Penrith, the reason I. Yeoh !!!
Not biased at all mate, that's the ref you get when you order from wish.

I personally think we can keep them all. Latu could play a 13/14 role similar to what Craig Wing used to do for the roosters. Galvin is still learning but his skill set is insane and the combo with Luai will continue to improve. If Latu's brothers stay I would think this is a massive reason to remain with us, especially if we are winning.

I feel like I've read a lot of these "get Latu in the team' comments before...centre, move Galvin...only to see them shouted down...

Galvin and his manager are the ones shouting it down the loudest …. Halves get paid half a million more a year than centres …that’s a lot of millions over a 15 year career

they need to make a call on who they are headed with soon …I think we all know deep down who is staying and who is going

Give Galvin a big offer and if he doesn’t sign not the end of the world. Latu looks a great player. I know player swaps are all very rare and all but I do wonder if Galvin could be a useful bargaining chip…fact we have him for next two seasons you would think increases that as a possibility.

Been saying it since preseason but I really like latu at 13 in this team, reckon if bird gets moved to centre or edge this week then latu plays birds role, he's a strong defender and straightens the attack, would really like to see this again in less wet conditions

I really liked seeing Latu with galvin and Luai linking up. The more time together, the
better. You could see we had points in us in the attacking zone when the 3 were out
there. Hope it gets more time to gel. Come on and move Twal.
I initially didn't want da silva and latu on the bench together (likely only da silva for api)
but want Latu there. Wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Yeah Latu needs to be in the side has good pace off the mark as evident in his try last night you need as much x-factor as you can get into the side.
Preferably in lock rotation or probably risky but try at centre.

Latu will get the chance to start at 7 against Broncos you would think...with Luai probably taking the 1 match suspension.
Great script set for the Broncos match. Teenage halves Galvin & Latu up against Hunt (35) & Reynolds (34). Oldest pair in NRL up against the youngest. This is the time they can both put their name up in lights as the future of the game!

Let's go!!
Just hope we have enough fit and quality players to put around them. Lack of depth and a 6 day turnaround to Brisbane worries me.

Yeah lock. I know he's not certainly not as tall but after say 25-30 mins come on at lock like
a Yeo link man and runner. He's just too good not be in first grade. I felt more confident
scoring in the red zone with him there too.

Fill me in on the greatness he displayed the rest of the time he was on the field.
Never said I don’t like him or want him in the team somewhere.
Thanks for the win though.👍
He was thrust in last minute from 18th man and was asked to play out of position.

He defended well in the middle, with 100% efficiency, despite never having played there, much less at NRL level.

He straightened the attack better than anybody on the field, leading to not only his own try, but heavily contributing to the space on the outside for Galvin to kick for Faataape.

His passing was crisp and rapid. His PTB speed was exceptional at 2.9 s.

He had excellent line speed.

To summarise; he contributed way more than 5 minutes of good play. I'd argue his whole 33 minutes was great.
