Adam Doueihi #227

Get the feeling he's going to continue to play the house down this year to try and squeeze every cent possible out of the tigers and solicite another offer from another club.
I hope we hold on to him as i think he genuinely loves being here, but i also trust that Richo knows exactly how much he can spend to get the balance right for the roster and no matter how well he plays the current offer won't change.

I think AD would be smart to accept 350K next year with a clause in there for 27’ based on his performance at lock. If he can nail that down it prolongs his career and would earn him better coin.
Given he’s had multiple injury problems I’d say he would want concrete offers for next 2 or more seasons. He’s not going to have too many further options to max his money. He turned 27 on the 5/8 so he’s looking at age 29 for his next contract.
I think he needs to bleed top dollar, I’m sure if we get close he stays with us.( plus saves agents fee).

A lot will come down to his relationship with Benji. If they’ve had regular chats about how AD fits into Benji’s plans then I’d say he’s better off staying for our rebuild. If Benji doesn’t see him as our first choice utility moving forward, he’s better off going to St.George where he’ll no doubt end up in the same role.

he’s staying!

DT: “Adam Doueihi is poised to accept a revised two-year deal with Wests Tigers now trying to find the salary cap money to retain Charlie Staines, Brent Naden and Reuben Porter. Doueihi's imminent retention and the recent arrival of Mavrik Geyer from Penrith and young Ethan Roberts from the Sydney Roosters has put the squeeze on Wests Tigers' salary cap.”

He is not a 13 and doesn’t want to play 13, he wants to play his best position which is somewhere in the halves.
Considering he continues to show he is our most influential player when he plays 7, you would think common sense tells you that’s where we would continue to play him.
But not Wests Tigers and its fans, when something works well we decide it’s a good idea to throw that in the bin and try something different.
And we wonder why it’s been so long since we last played finals.
He has played 2 games at 7.

I'm looking forward to reading the article. We must have come in over the top of the other 15 clubs with a $750K offer.
Maybe Jerome realised he doesn’t look anything like a 1.25 million dollar per season player without Douehi partnering him in the halves, so he’s agreed to reduce his wage, by 150k to give us more cap space to re-sign Douehi?

What about the Manly game where we had no idea what we were doing in attack before he moved into the halves and sparked us ?
If you or anyone else thinks he was bad against the Eels, try re-watching the game and watch how sharp our attack looked for the majority of the game.
The Eels were last place and we scored 22 points against them. Below are all Douihis games and starting position.

It's really nice to see AD, at every chance he gets, calls out Richo for a contract. He really doesn't want to leave.

Would definitely be one of those Richo mentioned knocking on his door for an extension you'd imagine.

Glad it looks like he's staying.
