Remarkable woman is all that I can say.Must take after their poor mother, that woman would have to be a saint to deal with him.
The titans are exhibit A on this strategy . They will get the spoon this year , with one of the best rosters on paper in the comp . Investing hugely on middles and fullbacks . Even the cowboys didn’t with JT , when 1 mil was more like 1.5 mil for today’s salary cap . It was fine when the only other huge salary they were paying was the other JT , but once guys like Morgan came with their hands out , they’ve fallen in a hole . Hugely saved by the massive cap jump a few years ago , which wasn’t originally forecasted .I don't agree this Tino latest chat, I think he is worth it.
My argument is you invest heavily in the type of footballer you don't currently have in your roster. Tigers forwards are workers and decent defenders. Honourable toilers. The only line-bender we have is Royce and obviously he's only got 20 minutes max. No one else has scary power, nobody will fly out of the line to iron someone, nobody will stand in tackles like a colossus and pump an offload.
You see properly what you get from Tino during Origin, not during the Titans matches.
Tino is huge, intimidating, athletic and dynamic. We have nobody like him and I consider him an ideal foil to Terrell. We lack depth at prop. Certainly I'd take Payne Haas as first choice but he's not off contract.
Must be his missus.Bloody Hoppa, how does he manage to have umpteen kids who as far as I can tell are all talented, quiet and modest athletes while their old man is a brash, big mouthed grub despite the fact that he is a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
How the hell does that work. 🤔
1m+ for 2- 3 years for a middle while you are in a premiership window and he could make the difference between top 8 and serious contender is smart . 1m+ for a middle for 5 years in almost any scenario will end in tears. The titans are exhibit A on this strategy . Hopefully he progresses in 26 and earns his top 30. I believe we have bought him in as a middle...watching his highlights i think thats where he will end up.![]()

He had one kid that got into a bit of trouble. Jamil Hopoate I think.Bloody Hoppa, how does he manage to have umpteen kids who as far as I can tell are all talented, quiet and modest athletes while their old man is a brash, big mouthed grub despite the fact that he is a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

His brother was, until he passed awayHe was ex Tigers right?
That's great for us. Dev deal for 26 still keeps a spot open and money available.Hopefully he progresses in 26 and earns his top 30. I believe we have bought him in as a middle...watching his highlights i think thats where he will end up.
Interesting what this means for other juniors like Tavana, now there's seemingly no more Dev spots for 2026. All our Dev spots on forwards too![]()

I notice Marshall mentions family in the club advice. Family appears to be an important component of the culture the club is building.![]()

dev contract for 2026... doesn't take up a top 30...I notice Marshall mentions family in the club advice. Family appears to be an important component of the culture the club is building.
He will not sign for 3 years . It’s fairyland stuff . He’s got a 7 year 1.5 mil offer from the dragons and bears on the table . That’s the range of years and money you have to play in now .1m+ for 2- 3 years for a middle while you are in a premiership window and he could make the difference between top 8 and serious contender is smart . 1m+ for a middle for 5 years in almost any scenario will end in tears.
I would love to have Tino, however not at $1m+ for 5 years, I would rather pay $1.5m for 2 years. If you are a contender and the club is moving forward after 2 years he would probably extend anyway. This all or nothing 5+ year contract stuff is dangerous. It invariably includes clauses that favour the player as well.
Apparently we should be trying to sign the bloke they will replace Bunty with. Toby Crosby.warriors won’t be offering bunty afoa a contract for next year, might be a good pick up
Guys like Sione Fainu are on a fraction of the money, yet allow us room in our cap to breath. He will not sign for 3 years . It’s fairyland stuff . He’s got a 7 year 1.5 mil offer from the dragons and bears on the table . That’s the range of years and money you have to play in now .
They will be real dark years in 31/32 for whichever club pays that . He can’t stay on the field now at 26 yo. It will be Matt Ballin level bench riding in those years for whichever team.
I’d much rather get a Hamlin uele or a Talakai and move him into the middle for a fraction of the cost , without having this albatross around your neck , that might bare fruit in 26,27,28 , but will block pathways for the juniors and severely hamstring your capabilities in the salary cap , even if it goes to the expected 15 mil by 2030, I’ve seen projected . 1.5kil then for a prop who’s the best in the world and killing it … muah chefs kiss . For a guy who’s as likely to be helping the assistant coach with the defensive strategies in the box as he is to be playing on the field … yuck . We litterally have just come out of this with Reynolds and Packer , and McQueen , and some of you guys are desperate to get right back into that pit of despair . I dunno … I tend to prefer to learn from mistakes…
