The result proves that they must have listened to Laurie. The blues looked like they coached themselves this year.
and just like that, there was hope againI would not be surpised if we have a new signing before November 6...I've heard .the club is working on a few (decent) options in the forwards...Thats all I know at this stage....
Coach themselves you say? Why didn’t the blues win the series then?100%.. the kiwis and the blues sides basically coach them selves.
I was saying to my wife yesterday that I wouldn’t mind Jesse Arthurs. Has always impressed me whenever he plays. I know other positions should be a priority but he would be a handy pick up.It’s no secret the Bulldogs want a big name match winning fullback, so that could mean someone like Curran could become available to create cap space for them to throw big money at a fullback.
For the record I’m tipping they end up with Jaxon Purdue or A J Brimson, watch this space.
Did I read somewhere that Tyson Smoothy can get out of his contract with Wakefield Trinity if he gets an NRL contract?
For his defence and defensive line speed alone I think Smoothy would be very good for us as a bigger, stronger, harder hitting rotation option with Api at 9 and can play a bit of 13 also.
Jesse Arthurs must surely be looking at a change of clubs. He cannot get into the Broncos team as it is and they also have Grant Anderson joining them next season.
Arthurs is tall, good under the high ball, he’s whole hearted, quick, a good strong defender and makes good yardage metres. I’d be trying to sign him as someone who can compete with To’a at right centre, but also a safe reliable winger option if required.
So there are plenty of players who would improve our team potentially available, but as you say we would need to confirm that Bud Sullivan is remaining at Souths or heading elsewhere and we would ideally need to move Jack Bird on also.
You are lucky you can talk to your wife about this. My wife only likes the football when I take the kids to the games and she gets a break.I was saying to my wife yesterday that I wouldn’t mind Jesse Arthurs. Has always impressed me whenever he plays. Wonder if this has anything to do with meeting with the player manager previously.I would not be surpised if we have a new signing before November 6...I've heard .the club is working on a few (decent) options in the forwards...Thats all I know at this stage....
Only a fisherman can understand this form of patience SteveThat's why this club has to keep slugging away at becoming strong.
We all want Richo and Benji to flick a switch and get there quickly but the reality is it could take years of small improvement as evident this season.
I for one don't care how long it takes if baby steps gets us there eventually, but when it happens, we need the right strategies in recruitment and junior development to keep us there year after year like the Storm/Riff examples.
I am a very lucky man. She loves her footy. I haven’t got her on board with NFL yet but definitely loves the Nrl. Downside is she supports ParraYou are lucky you can talk to your wife about this. My wife only likes the football when I take the kids to the games and she gets a break.
