For him to follow in the steps of Bennett, I’m assuming you mean he wins the comp? But then you said he’d become a good mentor, with people hanging off his every word. How does he achieve such status in 12 months, even if he wins the comp?
Alternatively his career could also end in this timeframe? That’s a lot of pressure.

From what i have seen, he already has the respect of the players and the metoring is a natural evolotion of his coaching style.....the next 12 months are important and yes, he is under pressure as his coaching career will likely be over if he can't improve the team.

Well I think he’s on a hiding to nothing then as he is miles off the pace and light years away from someone like Bennet.
 
Love this, could watch it every week.
Reading all the suggestions about how to make England stronger, I think there is a case for a 5 or 6 nations tournament.

Mariner has been playing strongly. Also think he was ripped off with that no try decision.
Luai smart to draw the 2 points on the half time bell.
Never have thought much of Dylan Brown but must say he has played well this tournament.
The Kiwi pack is absolutely incredible and better than Australia. They only lack a smart crafty hooker/dh.

The NRL Competition runs too long….almost 7 months + finals is a month too long.
Knock the rounds back to 23 and run an International tournament every year after it.

And when our comp gets to 20 teams, they'll brake it into 2 conferences of 10, and Voila!
Shorter comp.
Happier broadcasters.
Time for ancillary tests etc.
And still time for an off season.
