Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

By far the most promising and exciting Development list we have put together. Although, wouldn't surprise me to see Godinet upgraded and extended by the start of the 27 season.
I hope so with all the hype he is getting. NRL contract for 2027 but Mr Moses is his agent.
Seems to have a mature head and hopefully will not be unduly manipulated to unreasonable deals for one so young.
But he will have high ambitions, so WT will need to be going in the right trajectory to retain him IMO.
I think we are, so fingers crossed.
PS. The Panthers are buying a lot of players at the moment.
What has happened to their never-ending nursery of stars. All getting poached?
A lesson for the retention of our rising stars if the light at the end of the tunnel goes out.

The problem is he has proven to be at his worst for 70% of each season.
It’s hard to be confident that will change on past evidence.
2 seasons ago he was good for 1 good game a season.
1 season ago he was good for 2 good games a season.
This season he played 3 or 4 good games.

He's trending upwards. Next season surely 4 or 5 good games. The Luke Brooks of the centres.

For me Toa gets one more season to prove his worth or it's bye, bye baby bye, bye.

On his day he's the best centre we have but 4 times a year is not enough

I would keep him strong clubs have options

We have 6 good players who can play back 5 with I don't remember the last time something like this has happened we should cover injures ok

Skeltons hammy and Toa's neck

This year we don't have two 350K-400K backs playing Reggie's Naden and Staines it's a big plus

Looking at the other 16 teams and where they stand in terms of roster quality, level of development, standards of play and player group culture, coaching team etc, it is hard to see us jumping up the ladder much next season.
The likes of Storm, panthers, broncos, roosters, and Raiders are all ahead of us- at best we’re fighting out for the last 3 spots in the eight with teams like Eels, Cows, warriors, Rabbits, Dolphins, sharks.
They are all trying to improve as well and many had worse injury tolls. Very tough to overtake enough teams and make the eight next season with our current group.

plus Luke Luaali will be putting his best foot forward and my Smokey is Tavana to force his way in by end of season, kids got freakish talents.. I think Madden will have an important role at some point as well and think he’s underrated around here.

Backline should be covered. It’s the middle forwards that worry me. We really do need Pole to have a big season.

Unlike.many im.kind of excited and quietly positive for next year.
If we get steady improvement from.our youngens (fainus, bula, maka) a full season out of toa, kpp and tiny, and some pressure in the forwards from bunty, geyer, sakura, bird, sukkar and hunt, we will be pretty good.
We were electric at times last year and a year on together should improve that. Again our defence needs to step up but i think the squad is so much better then what we had in the past.
The mental aspect is always the problem with this team/club. We can play brilliant at times then we just close up shop and lose. We can be a top 8 team if we really want to, but if we don’t overcome this we won’t improve at all.

Our quality of junior recruit from out of our junior areas needs to improve. The Raiders can pull the Martin bros from the Far South Coast. Finucane, Elliott and the young Shark second rower who is the nephew of John Morris are all from the Far South Coast. The Knights second row forward is also from the South Coast. We need to look hard for those tough country forwards
