I did write that Marshall holds the key.
He is at the mercy of what HBG wants to do

It isnt even the news Jolls. Like it or not, these young guys spend all their time of social media, where Tigers are the but of all jokes. But they aren't quarantined from it, they can all read the news and when they start leaking to the press that a replacement is being sought for Marshall before a ball is kicked and you have players stating to the club that they will walk if he goes it is affecting the team.
Benji's big challenge now is to get turn the negative effects into positive motivation for the team to succeed in order to stay together. That will be an interesting balance. He can't call the owners that pay the wages a bunch of bastards and "let's stick it to them" or it makes his position untenable.
The last outcome the NRL want is a weakening of one of its foremast "brands". The WTs is one of the clubs which creates great interest, whether good news or poor.
Benji Marshall is the next Wests Tiger in the crosshairs of the Holman Barnes Group that has cut a swathe through the club.....I am a realist and most if not, all players are under contract. Marshall commands great respect among the playing group and he is the key. If Marshall remains the playing group imo will remain although not pleased with what has happened. PVL by consistent actions to redress the wrong that has occurred since this mess began has a role to play. Meeting with the four ex directors imo is the first step and is a positive sign. Being informed of all relevant information will allow him to form an opinion and then if necessary, take action. Let's hop that occurs.
Back to my original point - this was not happening under the previous administration. Now we are back to where we were with the clown show was running the joint and the HBG "good ideas faries" had us jumping from one incomplete plan to the next. The same way Mastrov was going to be CEO, but Shaun Mielekamp will be named tmw... Probably just ppl with agendas trying to cause disruption
Thats like reminding people i didn't buy a membership lolI did write that Marshall holds the key.
Pretty pointless staying on a few weeks to twiddle his thumbs...everythings closing down for xmas.nye soon...He should have stayed for at least a couple of weeks longer to see if any positive news eventuates.
He knew how much he meant to the the majority of Wests Togers fans.
I understand his rejlationship with HBG had become untenable, but he didn’t have to communicate with anyone from HBG, just hang around a bit longer honour the support he received from many WT fans and who knows what will eventuate over the next couple of weeks.
Yes. Is that supposed to be a gotcha?Cool. So you agree that the NSW Cup side should be named after our bloody club, Wests Tigers ?

You would hope so, although i'm not even sure what that brand is anymore. It doesnt feel like a club that represents its fans, an area or a philosophy. The last outcome the NRL want is a weakening of one of its foremast "brands". The disgusting part about this is it has been self inflicted just when on field and off field performances were improving. You would hope so, although i'm not even sure what that brand is anymore. It doesnt feel like a club that represents its fans, an area or a philosophy.
Seems a small number of old rich old people want it to represent them - that should really get our players up and about.
I am not sure what your original point was
I am just saying that I think Benji will be safe under Shaun....
As to how long Shaun lasts before the HBG chronies start their BS is another story all together
No it’s run worse.I don’t see the playing group being affected by Richo’s exit. I can see them getting their noses out of joint about Benji. However there is a very simple solution if they want him around. Win for the guy. Don’t have another sub par season than cry if he’s moved along. This isn’t a country club.
The point was about the leaks. It is clear from what is being reported in the media that someone at the club has already started to set the conditions for the next potential move. It may not occur but sewing the seeds has already affected the team and the coaching staff. It started the minute Richo left the joint.I am not sure what your original point was

They cant be quarantined from the perspective of not hearing about the mess that's been deliberately created, but they can insulated from the worst of its direct effects by careful mentorship. It seems to me you are an optimist …Not that there is anything wrong with that of course…
I don’t see how the players and coach can be “quarantined” from this mess ..unless PVL curbs HBG’s power ….and I’m not even sure he is able to , let alone wants to …given there are no financial difficulties with the club ..
If you think he left because of this why do you think he shouldve stayed a few more weeks over the festive season doing nothing? Or steadying the ship...how can he do that.I honestly believe richo did it to try and force something from the nrl, in a way an ultimatum
HBG: "How do we start another rebuild if the players don't leave?"Reports 7 players threatening to leave
HBG - “only 7 ?…. We were hoping for more “

Benji is the right person for that job. If Benji keeps his cool, to some extent, he will be able to calm and focus the playing group.
Also, who knows what background discussions are taking place between Richo and Benji.
