You're so worked up you are not even trying to work out why this new board set up has happened.
The NRL stepped in.
And this is the result.
Every insult, every trope about HBG being idiots...the NRL just disagreed. Why?
What are we not seeing?

Just got off the phone with him. Seemed genuine.
Explained that I have no problem with the club, my problems are solely with the dysfunctional HBG board making decisions. The lack of stability and infighting in that group directly impacts on employment, decision making and direction in the club. Today's announcement doesn't change anything as the HBG leaders making that decision will likely be gone & banned in 6 months anyway, when they turn on themselves.
He did say within the building things are strong and the team are unified & buoyed by the fans passion around recent events and do not feel any anger directed towards the team.
Current refund policy obviously does not cover the recent upheaval, they are reviewing the policy and expect to be done by February, at which point they will come to members.

In isolation yes. It's positive, but from a power standpoint we have gone backwards because HBG control the board.
We went from an independent majority board to an HBG board that includes some independents.
It was in the article. And there is still one there, maybe not on the board, but a debenture holder what has a husband who is in a high place right now.

Cochise, what are the chances of convincing Charlie Viola to accept his position back in the short term and when he steps aside after a short period another independent takes his place? It would improve the voting ratio somewhat.

So it was Richo gone and control back in their own hands independents means squat now, I liked Richo but you never know what things were like behind closed doors. The Chammas quote about many in the front office seeing him go sort of makes you at least have a thought about how harmonious things were.
Anyhow iam ok with Shaun Mielekamp having his time to do what he does living on the Coast you always heard around the traps how highly he was thought of at his time with the Mariners.
