HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Are people hoping that the financiers of the club are rubbed out all together?
You blokes make it sound like they put in millions upon millions
I haven’t been around the industry for a while,
But you blokes know that registered clubs have an undertaking that percentages of profits find their way back into the community yeah?

There’s wouldn’t be a leagues club in the country that doesn’t funnel profits back into the community by funding football teams / junior league
- so please stop talking about it like we owe them something,
you’ve got it the wrong way round…

So it is starting to sound like HBG were after maybe 2 things to happen-

Either control or an even split of control on the board (I think the 3rd/4th independent board member needs some clarification)

Secondly- the removal of Shane Richardson.

Call them whatever you want, say whatever you like, but an 'owner' wanting a 51% say, or even a 50% say in the running of the club doesn't sound ridiculous

It would seem that Richo was the/a target. Interesting that the NRL left him out of the negotiation.

I hope the new CEO is a good one- I'm thinking Mielekamp is looking likely.

I would also hope that a 4th board member gets added to balance the control. Maybe the weird introduction of Benny Elias from nowhere plays into a board position?

None of this is confirmed, but pieces are falling into place and the smoke is clearing somewhat now.

We need new owners these fools have had their chance for too long and can't get it right, give someone else a go I'm convinced just about anyone could do better than them.
Go convince someone to buy in. There's a really cool rally happening on Saturday. Maybe use that to go petition an alternative owner instead of yelling at the current ones?

It’s a postive because the removed directors are back … is this the end ? No …but the first thing that has gone our way all week
Mate, they've removed the independence from the independent directors by being able to overvote them. It is the same as just having HBG only on the board.

Don't be fooled mate. It's all games from HBG group again - no idea how PVL is ok with this

It's not a positive at all. HBG have put 5 directors on! Do they think we're idiots? Probably all Debenture holders.
Who are the 5 HBG reps on the Wests Tigers board I thought they only had 2 ?
By still being extremely unhappy after today’s changes which appear to have been directed by PVL, are you saying you think PVL got it wrong ?

Oh please ,,, save your theories trying to explain/ justify these dopes… HBG don’t have the smarts to get a root in a brothel with a $1,000 dollars hanging out of their pocket

Mate, that's what the whole review was about! That they could not steer the ship and needed to take a backseat.

If these guys were elected by HBG members, then that will be fine, but we now have the same idiotic 20 debenture holders with a firmer grip on WT then they had a few weeks ago.

Why is everyone getting fooled by this?
