I ended up going on my own and thought there was about 500 people.

Thought it was a bit divisive though, alot of Balmain paraphernalia and was disappointed Barnier who led the review spoke and noticed former sacked board members there so one wonders what their agendas were. Would've preferred just regular fans.

Saw Roach there, wonder what he was hoping for,

It was clearly all Wests Tigers, even if some older logos in view, everyone was absolutely united on a Wests Tigers front.

As for Blocker, not only did he when I spoke to him, but heard him multiple times say that he may have been a Balmain player, but he is behind the Wests Tigers and the cause, and that he wouldn't have been there otherwise.

I am unsure of what outcome the protesters are attempting to achieve, other than to divide the club and get rid of the Western Suburbs' 90 percent ownership of the club. How the HGB is structured is a matter for this club, and its members, and in my view, Wests Tigers members and supporters should have no involvement in this matter, severely damages Wests Tigers brand to prospective members and players etc.
Concerning the internal review of Wests Tigers by Tony Crawford (North Sydney Bears Board Member) and Gary Barnier (controversial aged care executive), and implementing an independent board, I think it was always doomed for failure. Most successful NRL clubs do not use this, to my knowledge. I couldn't imagine Sydney Roosters handing over control of their football club.

You've suggested the goal is to divide the club, but cited the 90% HBG ownership. So it's ok to have division/bias/agendas one way, but a bit of push back from the other side and it's not on?

A lawyer went on record this week to state that there are directors in HBG who want the magpies back and tigers gone. Also go listen to Marina go on the playingandsimple podcast which was released this week.

We don't care how the HBG is structured, they can run brothels for I care..

We just don't want them anywhere near the club.

As fans we are entitled to take that position against an agenda driven self serving business who do not have the best interest of the football club at heart.

The problem is that the people "controlling the football club" are inept , unqualified and unskilled. They are not chosen on their ability but simply on who they know or who they are related to

The only thing that keeps severely damaging the WT brand is the HBG, year after year after year.

You think THIS is damaging the club? Mate, HBG do that all on their own. No need for us.

The reason why the club needs to be at arms length is due to the undemocratic debenture holder structure. We'll never have the right leadership from a pool of 20 people picked by their own mates. We wouldn't be in this situation, without that situation.

So yes, youre right, no other clubs do this, but they do not have people unaccountable at club ownership level. These guys do not have accountability from their own finances, from shareholders or from members, which is the case in every other organisational governance that i can think of.

You sound like you have relationships with HBG given this propaganda youre spewing @KevB? Tying yourselves in knots there mate.

I never saw one item of Balmain paraphernalia ( not sure exactly what you are trying to imply ) … I saw 2 guys wearing Balmain jerseys but they combined it with a Wests Tigers hat
 
I didn't think this initiative would do much initially but very glad of the turnout.

A big part of me still believes that they will do a couple of cosmetic and knee jerk changes, but 2-3 years later, go back to the way it has been.

But, I see a tiny little chance that HBG just says f it, it's not worth the drama.

I personally have lost a lot of emotions over the WT since I've learned a lot more about the ownership structure and the way the Club operates. It simply doesn't feel like "my club" anymore.

If something does eventuate, great. If nothing does, I'll continue to feel how I feel.

I highly doubt I'll be going to many games win, lose or draw next year.

There was alot of Balmain paraphernalia there, glad my 88 yo grandfather who played at Pratten Park didn't want to come, he thought it was developing into an anti Wests thing.

I think in the context of a Wests Tigers unite movement Balmain paraphernalia is divisive yes.

I'm sure some of those would like it to be just Tigers.

Bit hard for Wests Tigers fans and members not to get involved, when HBG are involving themselves in our club. If they leave the Wests Tigers alone to do Wests Tigers things, we leave HBG alone to do HBG things. They put they're hands into our pie, not the other way. Before that we would criticise them for various things but that was about it.

Ok so if the Sydney Roosters who are largely a very successful club are run by Sydney Roosters people can you explain to me why the Wests Tigers should be run by Western Suburbs Magpies people?

OR

Would it be better if it were run by independent Wests Tigers people like how it has been for the last year, quite successfully?

Additionally, bringing into question the characters of the people running the review is ridiculous. Do you seriously think a North Sydney Bears board member who's club is NOT in the NRL and was not yet announced to be in the NRL via the Perth Bears would then try and put together a faulty review. Furthermore, Gary Barnier as a fan certainly wouldn't allow that and what does his aged care executive record really have to do with anything (I don't know if you are making up that he's controversial or he actually is as well btw). Instead of attacking the people who made the report on their character maybe attack specific things within the report that got implemented and demonstrably had a negative impact on the club. As far as I'm aware since that report came out and subsequently implemented until a couple weeks ago where HBG then threw that all in the bin the club was moving in a VERY POSITIVE direction.

But regardless if the review was a bad review, then why have we failed so miserably over the decade and a bit despite having the coaches who have won the last 5 premierships at the club. Is it the players? If so how do players decide to want to join a club if getting similar money from multiple clubs, maybe their image helps or stadiums or fanbase selling out stadiums or a strong governance system and good CEO? I mean you literally said prospective members and players get swayed away when a brand is being damaged. What is damaging our brand the most? The fans or the governance system causing instability within the club?
