I think it was a case of a struggling Balmain having what was thought to be a Wayne Pearce replacement they could build the club around and he upped and left. It never bothered me because I saw Morrison play a bit as a youngster and I knew he wasnt that good. Probably didnt help he had long flowing blonde hair and a running style that just made you want to slap him 😂

Similar story to Galvin. He was a young kid Balmain brought down from the Central Coast. Gave him a go and he looked like he was going to be a elite first grader for a long time and captain of the club, only to walk out on the club in a very grubby contract renewal process.
He spent his career chasing the dollar and his football never really hit any heights after such a promising start at Balmain. Probably a better comparison would be Matterson, a guy who only ever was interested in money, sad because he could been a great player and plenty of money would have followed

Players that force their way of contracts are at the top of my grudge list …
I know clubs move players on too ( all the time) … but in just about all cases the players still get their contracted money..even if it might be at a different club who are paying some of tne freight
Players can get their way out of agreed deals through non effort or creating off the field disruptions which we have seen first hand more than once

Went to the Bears first I think than the Cows but my memory these days is not great. I know he played in ESL for years and was late 30s when he gave it away

Im pretty sure he signed with North Sydney with more than a year to go on his contract and he was our Captain. After Norths he went to the Cows and then Parra. I remember people naming the Hill toilets after him...
