Fantastic edition boys. Love the Friday morning timeslot, you are contributing to my health. I go for a run (well slow jog) on Friday mornings and I head out for as long as the pod lasts haha

Re Riley Oitmann, he's in the Jersey Flegg squad, probably didn't make the final team this week with Brookes, Nicholas & Craig ahead of him unless he has a niggle. He did play in Benji's team in that hybrid touch/soccer game at the Wests Ashfield charity day.

Strangely enough I've had similar thoughts to @poopy_diaper re. AD moving into lock or hybrid half after 20 mins once the defensive intensity drops a little with Madden coming on then. Can understand the negatives but I reckon Benji has to come up with something different this season to leverage our strengths and best players (Api, Luai, AD & Latu). Will be an interesting watch!

Even moreso now that AD has been extended. I really think we missed a trick in not converting him into a 13 over the off season, but better footy brains that mine have the clipboard. With him at half we will definitely be playing a different style of footy to the other teams in the competition.

I have been trying to get my head around what he meant when Benji described AD as a hybrid 7. was he talking him controlling the play but playing as running 6 with shred kicking duties or was he talking about an ability for him to shift into the middle and play as a link/running threat - so not quite a 13 either.

In my view AD is also not a Yeo style 13 either. I see his optimal role as being a runner, secondary playmaker, or middle-field link rather than the primary organiser; almost a third half. If they have trained to operate in this manner over the off season they have kept it well under wraps!

Share your view too @Jolls and I think he could kill it in this type of running, playmaking role in attack. I just worry about the defensive side and if he has the tank to make repeated tackles, clean up behind the ruck and lead line speed. I haven't seen that in him yet.

Perhaps that is why Twally is starting there to absorb that and bring in some spark when towards the back end of the half. I can see a system where it works - just haven't heard and scuttlebutt about it being practiced.

Benji did say in the video he sees Adam as a possible hybrid, Madden's on the bench pointing to a switch, mixing up the attack it could work but one thing for sure it's got be better than throwing the ball to Twally around the twenty-metre line man I was sick of seeing that.
