I was thinking the same, he needs a week off the rest and recuperate.Maka needs a breck , he’s only a kid, playing against seasoned 1st graders is hard work , 2-3 games in nsw cup , to re- charge his body
Douehi wins you games, and sometimes he loses them.U just blow ur need for having madden as a 1/2 back , ur second paragraph, u state we were a rabble , that comes down to the 1/2 back , hes the one u said runs the team , SO what was madden doing bugger all , other than kicking the ball if that’s all he has thenngod help us

He has played better than we could hope from Toa!Makasini- not for me so far this year .. developing and out of position
I reckon Benji will give Mak a week off soon, maybe when Taylan returns.he has been standing up to the physical grind quite well… although he has been copping plenty of hits ..i dunno if we can afford drop in the short term … I would like to see him have a period of time on the wing which was the original plan ..
I thought he wasn’t as closely marked at times yesterday as previous games .. He had a bit of space on a few occasions ..I would have liked to see him make a bit more of those opportunities ..maybe he was out of gas.., and Parra overall were good defensively
Probably….He has played better than we could hope from Toa!

Then we have the Bye in Round 11 and he'll probably be given another rest before our 3rd Bye in Round 23.
As you say, he'll probably revert back to the left wing when May returns too as he'll develop much better there especially with a more seasoned defender in May inside him.

Madden has by far the better kicking game. Perhaps their range is similar, maybe even doueihi can kick it further, but Madden's placement, awareness and kick selection with his kicking is on another level. He is our best kicker. If you want any evidence of that simply look at who Benji gave kicking duties to.
We were an absolute rabble in our sets of 6 yesterday: players missing passes, running sideways, getting stuck in narrow spaces out wide on the last. Madden repeatedly produced important well placed kicks to get us out. Very hard for half backs to do that.
I don't believe it's necessarily forever, but for the good of the team madden has earnt the 7 and deserves to keep it until performance says otherwise. I think it's an important moment for Benji in managing this team, proving to the players that he means what he says and that all players have equal treatment.
Maybe opposition teams manage to disrupt madden and he becomes too predictable and allow teams to suffocate options outside of him, so a more dynamic runner like doueihi becomes vital, but at present madden is the perfect style of player at 7 to the dynamic elite running talent on the edges. You want them getting good early ball and you want someone guiding team around. That's not really doueihi's strength.
I like doueihi a lot, I think he's a terrific halfback option compared to most of the league. However, madden is playing at too high a level to drop him from his halfback spot.
Not as bad as when somebody describes a player as looking unfit.Man I hate this term
Too many fingers in the horseLooks like Reynolds, Hunt and Walsh won’t be playing for the Broncos in 2 weeks.
Me too...misses too many tacles..plus..wheres that guy who ripped Panthers apart it trials?Makasini- not for me so far this year .. developing and out of position
Taking away the better organiser and kicker doesn't improve that situation. Half of those sets were sabotaged by doueihi running in circles or getting caught with the ball.U just blow ur need for having madden as a 1/2 back , ur second paragraph, u state we were a rabble , that comes down to the 1/2 back , hes the one u said runs the team , SO what was madden doing bugger all , other than kicking the ball if that’s all he has thenngod help us
Madden squares the defence up, it really is that simple. Goes deep to the line which gives the space out wide. There were opportunities out wide yesterday that were blown that had nothing to do with Madden. I agree the ball does die to often with AD. He certainly does have a place in the team, but I personally don’t rate him the best 7 in the club.Taking away the better organiser and kicker doesn't improve that situation. Players aren't perfect, teams have bad moments. Madden's kicking under pressure in those circumstances enabled us to win.
Both are good players, but I reckon Madden's play suits the number 7 and our team better.
If I'm wanting a threatening and hard running player I'm taking doueihi. However, I think team works better with a pass first halfback and create for runners like Bula, kpp, turuva, makasini, fainu out wide. At present the ball dies too much with doueihi.
That's great news we can move Makasini to the wing.Bronson Xerri named to start at centre
Gus hasn't even met them let alone told them anything. 🤣Gould will say it was always the strategy to confuse the opposition. Forgot to tell his players.
Madden won us the game yesterday with his goal kickingDouehi wins you games, and sometimes he loses them.
Madden gets us around the park and in a position for guys like Douehi, KPP, Romey , Samuela etc, to win them .
