Jahream Bula #269

still heard yesterday from an nrl player that Bula is going to Dogs.

“still”? This guy probably stringing you along because you keep asking him about it 😂

Also .. How does he know ?

Has Bula even made up his mind yet where he is going ? Other people saying he is trying to squeeze the Tigers for more money

Let’s see what Jahream produces on Sunday in a game we really need to win against the Knights at Campbelltown.
Even his biggest fans must acknowledge he has not featured in our top 3 players so far this season including our trial game, so surely he is due to step up and have his best game of the season, helping us to victory along the way.
Yep Jahream had his debut at Campbelltown against Manly in what remains in my mind as a most impressive effort by a rookie fullback, back in those early days he was regularly on the spot foiling try scoring opportunities because of his defensive positioning.

Defence is an area in which I have been critical of Bula and feel that even though he has been good at organising our defence from the back, his own positioning and urgency on the line has been poor seeing him regularly arriving late on the scene when tries have been scored against us.

If nothing else I would like to see him lift in this area on his return to Campbelltown against some of the try scoring threats that Newcastle will be posing to us.

I can't say who the player is but geez they are super confident he is going to the dogs.
I said but Tracey is re-signing ? they were like they move players on or play them in other positions so who cares.

Well his form has been so good, we would be mad not to pay him whatever he asks for, wouldn’t we 😎

I just watched the game v Parra again specifically to watch Bula. I think your assessment of his lack of involvement in attack is a little off the mark. Bula can be seen on most sets hanging around the middle and postioning himself to support and he did plenty of work with ball in hand. He does not inject himself into the game so on that point you are correct, but his support play is very good. There is certainly room for improvement; so he has not reached his ceiling.

He has been overshadowed by the halves and the forwards to date - but his support play will see him come to the fore at times throughout the year. If you look back at Edwards, who you hold up as an example of what Bula is not, in his early days he struggled under the high ball and the pace of the game - to the point he was hooked at least once. Look at the player he has developed into.
Great point regarding Edwards he was definitely the weak link for a while at Penrith.

I’ve considered him every game , he had a quiet trial game.

Our backrow and halves have probably outshone him, along with Api.

I can only find about 5 fullbacks in the NRL in better form than him, based on his consistency.
Youre not looking very hard
Walsh/Ponga/Tedesco/Faalongo/the hammer/Turbo are game changers..
Bula aint close at this stage.Has never changed a game..unless u count missed tackles..Bula never close to being in position foe edge tries
Then at the next level you have Edwards/Drinkwater/Tracey/Fletcher Hunt...and maybe Bula at a real stretch..
Yeah..he "hasnt reached his ceiling"..."can improve his defense" "providinfg leadership" //blah blah..but he is nowhere near a million dollar fullback atm
This is just Moses doing his thing to create "value"at his deceitful and cunning best
The kid is just not anywhere near the top 5 full backs
Not a detractor...but dont wanna get done over by that grub manager yet again
We have all the cards,,incl 1 year club option
Need to be smart
