Heavily back ended from what i have heard, so takes the cap increase into consideration in that figure. All the talk of him cementing the 6 when Luai goes sounds crazy though. Perhaps his last 2 years is related to him getting paid more if he can lock down the 6.

Its only a couple of journos saying this and you really have to wonder where its come from.
1. WTs?
2. Jake?
3. Agent?
4. Journos creative writing?

First two.options id say no...1. could.upset the balance at thenclub currently.

3rd....possible but no real logic behind why.
4th. ..Because they love to BS.

Maybe this was leaked to flush a rat....or maybe its true and its what got him over the line here at WTs...i still see no benefit in leaking this positional news this far out during a cooling off period

It was first used by CodeSports as a click bait headline. "Luai's replacement" will generate more clicks than "Tigers sign a centre". From there everyone is just reposting the same headline and the narrative is now he's playing 6.

The first external signing since Luai is leaving so techncially we are 'replacing' his spot... just crappy new age jourlaism at its finest. Will be playing centre.

This makes most sense to.me
 
the Football Department would leave the door open for Averillo to ‘trial’ at 6 after Luai without committing to it. Javon for mine is the guy there but competition for spots is never a bad thing.

as for Latu, I think the plan is for him to still be the long term 7, it’s just what that looks like in the medium term.

What are you on about? Have you ever seen him play 6? I'm guessing no. He is a young player with tons of speed, can play in every position in the backline, including fullback. He is a very good goalkicker and knows his way to the tryline. Check out his stats before he was injured this year.

He has played 6 before for Canterbury. He will be a great signing for us.
 
Nothing from the club means these grubs like Reed , Alexander , and co know nothing about who is coming , when the club makes a statement then we know , the rest is speculation and a lot of click bull shat , If we sign Alverillo it’s to play where Benji thinks he is best suited , most likely centre giving us
Left wing - Macca
Left centre - Taylan
Right centre - Jake
Right wing - Turuva
Back ups - Tavana - Herbert - Skelton
Next year if this was the case we would be also looking to how we field
Latu , AD , Luai - Madden - , Latu won’t replace Twally at lock unless coach says off-season Twally moves to front row and adds a few kg , Twally is perfect weight for a solid lock now , mobile , front row add KG and barge straight at them up the middle , as for the dragons rejects big no unless they are cheap as and reserve grade starters
