LIVE GAME Round 25 vs Roosters

Live Game Discussion
The same cretins going after Saukuru for his defense (which is objectively piss poor and needs to be worked on if he wants a future as a first grade centre) are the same ones making excuses for Makasini. Makasini has personally cost us multiple games this season with under 9s basic ball handling errors and poor defense, including Saukuru-like low efforts (the final try and disallowed try against the Eels where he didn’t even bother to make an attempt). And his decisions in attack leave a lot to be desired.

Yet Saukuru has already scored more tries in 2 games than Makasini has in his 14 games this year. Makasini is a kid who will likely go on to be a very good player but he has not earned the opportunities he’s been given in first grade this year (that isn’t his fault btw). He should’ve been either on the wing or adjusting in NSW Cup instead of being thrown in the deep end by Benji.

I understand Saukuru is older but he did his time and deserves the opportunity in first grade and while definitely poor in defence, he is the best attacking centre we have outside of Taylan.

Possibly right mate but interested to see what Averillo can bring, our backline has been screaming out for more pace, he could provide/set up more tries.

I have been pushing that we don't blood juniors before they are ready all season
Saukuru defence was bad in KOE .....it will just get more exposed at the NRL level
Makasini should of been sent back to KOE after the Broncos game at the latest
But in saying that Saukuru shouldn't have replaced Makasini

May's first half, was his best effort of the year. Ran hard and straight without reversing into the defence. Maybe , wanted to show up former employer?
Yeah, I liked how he "showed up his former employer" by running straight and hard, as you said.
Unlike J Bateman, who played like a lunatic whenever we played Canberra . . missed tackles, dangerous tackles, penalties galore.
I noticed May and his hard running, and wondered where that's been all season too.

All based on Twal unfortunately. For mine Heath Mason is a loser and not to be injected when the game is on the line, sorry to be cruel about it.
He finding it hard to lock down a position.

I remember a few games in the juniors flashing down side line step for a long range try . Has good speed and step just struggling to translate skills into first grade in our team. Wouldn't suprise me coming good in the right system

One thing yesterday brought up for me, the quick tap needs to be outlawed. The penalty the Roosters got was a diabolical decision by Klein but we couldn't challenge it because he allowed a quick tap. So as long as the challenge rule exists, the quick tap cant be allowed.
I agree, with the concept of a captains challenge the quick tap should not exist and makes no sense.

Yes, I am one of them. For years I thought of him as somewhat of the team numpty and said as much.

You phrased it perfectly: This has been the year he has shown he has true value.

Particularity this last lean trot, when sub-par effort and performance could be more easily deflected, he has actually excelled and shown so much heart.

I was a big Chris Lawrence fan, and the lines Seyfarth has been running have reminded me of the days when rowdy was in the 2nd row.

He has definitely changed my view on him and I hope he gets a realistic salary bump if possible; Because a core aspect of the niche role he plays for the tigers is that they are great value for money.
Seyfarth has always been a solid player, plays with passion and in the past has lost his head when things have not gone our way which led to penalties and send off's. I know it may not be a popular opinion, however i think Luai has helped him and the team not go off the deep end and its likely Benji has had a hand in it too.

I wonder how West Tigers supporters would have reacted if the boot was on the other foot with Skelton not getting sin binned for early tackle (contact) near the end of the match.
IMO it was a try scoring opportunity and should have been a sin bin.
Just another example of the inconsistency of the refereeing.
And it does go both ways, just take the good with the bad they always seem to even out.

See how intense he was before the game. No laughing, smiling, just in the zone. I know everyone is different, but im sick of 95% of our team smiling and joking before kick-off
