What the coach says and what the fans say.

Coach: "This was our best week in terms of training and preparation, but it just didn't transfer into game day"
Fans: Did the team bus accidentally drop the talent off at a different stadium?

Coach: "We came out in the second half and gave it our best shot, but the Doggies are too good in defence"
Fans: Next week, let’s try playing both halves. Just to see what happens.

Coach: "We are struggling at the moment with confidence"
Fans: Our confidence that we'll win a game this year is also at an all-time low

Coach (on Luai): "He went out there and did his job. The scoreboard did get the better of us at the back end, but he was trying hard"
Fans: Trying hard is what you say about a five-year-old’s finger painting, not a million-dollar signing.

Coach: "If I look at the way we prepared, we couldn't have prepared any better this week. That didn't translate to the field. But we have to fight these moments together. I know our group will"
Fans: Together? My liver cannot take another weekend of this togetherness.

Coach: ""It is tough at the moment because the way we started the season gave us a lot of hope, but we are battling at the moment."
Fans: Can we get a refund on the hope? We'd like to exchange it for some actual competition points...

Gee, it's tough to follow the West Tigers.

Thank you for that post, it made me chuckle and after the disgraceful display by the team last night, anything smile inducing is a good thing.

Just reiterates that Benji is a weak coach and his talk about "acceptable standards" is very different to 99% of other successful NRL clubs.

Benji got caught with his pants pulled down yesterday or the leadership....whatever.

We couldn't keep up with the way the dogs started and with the focus on the middle.

Why didn't someone ask him, if he was ready for the way the dogs played and why not?

Obviously they didnt focus on that at training.

It's an interesting point...Seems to me that when the press puts the coach under the blow torch, they rarely admit mistakes, or the press wants to keep club and manager on side and don't ask the hard questions. Take your pick, but either way, we'll be left wondering why certain tactics and players are used. This can only lead to numerous speculations, which could be avoided with a straight "we knew they were strong up the middle but some of our forwards didn't have their mind on the job" - so to speak. Or is the game played so that in the end no one gets blamed, and see you all next week?
