Three things I never thought I would see or hear:
1) An NRL player trot out of the defensive line while defending the try line…… to pick up his mouthguard.

2) An NRL player tell a coach he would rather play reserve grade in a position he prefers than play first grade in one he doesn’t like.

3) An NRL player walk out out on his team and refuse to play because he was told he would be moving positions.

Who is the mystery player? I’ll give you a hint, apparently he is a very principled young man.

Saw he was selected today and was just so disappointed.

Until today I was actually fine with Benji, but this is up there with the worst selections I've ever seen and on the surface looks either incredibly suspicious, spineless, or both.

There's obviously a lot more to this than meets the eye, but without any explanation from the club how and why are we fans supposed to keep even caring?

I don't think there is a clearly right or wrong way to handle what AD has done. I personally think AD has handled it poorly but I don't think there's a simple solution for the club - the next steps all have pros and cons.

For example if Benji names him in the side this afternoon it almost looks like capitulation. The Blake Austin video you posted was bang on. If he makes an example of AD and puts him in reserve grade, it makes the line in the sand clear but the team's already hugely underperforming, I worry it's just flogging a 2026 dead horse.

I don't think it's necessarily weak or wrong to try and move on. It's possible that AD had a strongly emotional response to the situation and it's possible he said some things that are fair. Without being there it's hard to speculate.

I agree with you to a point...and there will have been things said and done since last thur and post today team selection none of us will be privvy to.

There is weak possibilities all over this...Benjis supposed early season standards and with Douehis camps leaks undermining this with his claims

Weak- Douehi himself refusing to play due to MH then remarkably fine to play this week after a meeting with his agent present...all supposedly over a team selection disagreement- please

Weak- The position Benji now finds himself in....rightly or wrongly.. due to apparent inaction over an act that is just not on in team sport...letting your mates down.

It all paints the club as weak which it is, and our results show that

I know we are very light on in the halves right now, Madden injured Latu suspended Andrews not ready yet...i get that .

Marshall and.Douehi press conference tomorrow, many will say it will be interesting...im sure it will be predictable
