Who here actually supports Western Suburbs in the KOE NSW Cup?

I don't see the point of this thread. It'd be pretty weird if any of us didn't support our reserve grade side. I was a Balmain Tigers supporter but it doesn't stop me rooting for Wests in KOE. I used to like all the foundation clubs.
I am 80 supported Tigas since 5 yrs old,
But when the joint venture happened Instantly I became a West Tiger have been ever since, if the Magpies KOE team make a Grand Final I could not give a shit and never will, like I never gave support to the Balmain reserve side, Since the venture took place.

BALMAIN & MAGPIE'S STOPPED BEING A NRL SIDE THE DAY THE JOINT VENTURE STARTED, OLD MAGGY FANS APPARENTLY WILL HOLD ONTO THERE DREAM TILL DEATH.
PITY YOU CANT LET THE WEST TIGERS THRIVE, RATHER THAN CONTINUALLY DRAGGING THIS CLUB BACKWARDS,
THINK OF ALL THOSE KIDS THAT ARE NOW OVER 25 YEARS OLD THAT SUPPORT WEST TIGERS.
NOT WESTERN SUBURBS MAGPIES,

LIKE TO KNOW WHAT SORT OF ATTENDANCE YOU GET TO THESE MATCHES AT LIDCOMBE OVAL,
100 OR 150.

Mate I was a Wests fan, I am like you and follow the Wests Tigers, all our teams should be the Wests Tigers but some people can't get over it.

Only reason is they are part of us , should they be Wests Tigers , in my opinion yes , others no , While HBG own us and the debenture system is in place this is our reality , what annoys me is they play on deferent days to our nrl side or same day different location , now I’m not sure if nrl pick the spots but gee it should be with our nrl team , only reason we have Wests Magpies is due to the debenture holders ( board ) if it was HBG owners and a voted in board I think it would be reverted back to Wests Tigers nrl and reserve grade at a minimum, it’s only old wests folks holding on to it , a brand new board with no wests or Balmain on it I believe would change it , HBG cash as owners , new structured board with members able to vote after say 2 years ( full members ) , full member would be member of Wests Ashfield and a member of the Wests Tigers , I feel it is the only way this club will go forward and not just do the same thing as we have the past 15/20 years , what is major disappointment is if we had 10/13 thousand at Leichhardt or Cambo our reserve grade would most likely play in front of 5 thousand min as some folks only turn up late to watch nrl , fair enough but if both sides were winning you find more get in and watch both , how many were at Lidcombe oval last weekend , I don’t know but il have a go 250 people ? Anyone know be interesting

I don't follow WSM. I see the scores, and appreciate the updates, but I haven't followed the lower grades since the NYC and Wests Tigers comp was dropped. The "two junior bases makes us stronger" argument is dead and buried. We need one team, a Wests Tigers Team, that pulls the best juniors in, and shows a clear pathway to Wests Togers NRL team. I think this is why my support for the NRLW is stronger than for NRL. They are all Wests Tigers teams, as it should be.

I’m guessing that back in the day when the merger was being planned, participants were given the choice of being called Balmain Magpies or Wests Tigers , choice was made then.

Spot on , well said , we have the LUXURY of having 2 areas to bring kids through , these kids need a club they strive to play for , once we have a Wests Tigers NRL and Reserve grade that improves it then we can once solid look to take the next step for the next team under reserve grade to take up the Wests Tigers jumper and name , these dopes who run the club at HBG should pull, their heads in and think what is best for Wests Tigers not Wests Magpies , sure we keep our junior base and play then in there respected area and kit , Be it Wests magpies and Balmain , 2 junior bases feeding Wests Tigers , how good is that , then we also need to link with another club in Queensland like Easts Tigers or similar and build there as well find those guns in Queensland , but also have another option for our Sydney based junior , maybe a few of them can go up north and ply their trade until ready , geezus it’s not that hard

I don't follow the WSM but I watch the games on Bar TV. I am interested in the young players coming through and that’s why I subscribe. I've been to 4 cup games this year. Auckland where they lost by 1, very decent crowd. Lidcombe against Warriors, they got flogged. Awful ground to watch footy from and has not changed much since the 80s when I was last there. Nice sunny afternoon but very small crowd. Bunty and Skelton were in there. One at Parramatta - decent crowd as expected, played Easter Monday before 1sts and the other game was at Campbelltown against Manly. That one was a very small crowd, the Ambush function was on at same time, I was surprised by that, we arrived early to watch cup. Great game by our two halves Javon and Latu. I don't think there's much interest in cup from our supporters, 2 biggest crowds were away games and played before 1sts. Only went to Lidcombe because tickets were free and hadn't been there is such a long time. Unlikely to go there again. The other games I was going anyway for 1st grade.

I don’t care what they’re called but they should be on before First Grade whenever possible. They should see the FG side warming up and know that those blokes have their jerseys on. Needs to be healthy competition for spots in successful clubs. They must feel disconnected and more like park players as it is.

They played as Balmain Ryde Eastwood (2 gf) and WSM. Then played as WT, then as WSM from 2018. A press release on the Premiership website said “the decision is designed to strengthen the club’s position and continue to cultivate a robust pathways system in the Macarthur region.” Right.
Read this from 2017, what's changed?

Seems pretty reasonable for a club with such strong heritage to have a Tiger in NRL and a Magpie in the KOE. Especially since Wests Magpies rugby league club foot most of the bill for running koe games.

Having a differently branded feeder team hasn't hurt the Sharks.
No dramas keeping the branding as is, think they should be playing at same location if possible though. Over the course of a season they are one side with guys coming and going, you want some unity.

For sure. But I had heard there were some issues around changerooms at LO and Campbelltown that makes holding both on the same day a headache.

Id also link up with an ESL club and have a footprint in the ESL and working together
