I think they’re are in part unraveling their own mess. Galvin publicly said he was a 7 and he could lead the team. There were obvious attempts to get him to the Dogs (secret meetings) and the whole blow up felt orchestrated.
They now have him and I don’t think he has really progressed much since his time with us. Yes, he is probably part of a better setup but his contribution is still questionable including the disruption caused by trying multiple halves partners with him.

Yes they are playing a role, but would he be so entitled to demand the 7 if our club didn’t foster such a mindset originally?
I think not. We let him do whatever he wanted here.

One cannot help but wonder how much of a measurably better position WT would be in right now, had Benji not made the decision to think that Doueihi could defy history and be our halfback through the off-season. Reading the team list against Parramatta and seeing him at 7 again after the huge kerfuffle had me feeling the most disillusioned in memory, even upon the third 🥄.

As a half yes, as a player? No we can’t let him go. He is too effective as a running threat.
One of the very few who tries to win us games regularly.
We have to develop a role for him that suits both parties.
 
Galvin was never going to be at WTs longer than he was without his manager agitating for another release - it wasn't the first time. No interest in playing for a struggling club and the Dogs in their great wisdom slotted him straight into his favoured position at the expense of what was working for them - top 2 position - and we all witnessed what happened.

All it did was put immense pressure on him divided their supporter base - not a fan base you want to put a young player on the bad side of - and had the media watching every move he made.
So the Bulldogs/ Gus Gould's "best young player he has ever seen" - no pressure there - pulled him out of the frying pan and threw him into the fire.

The last part doesn’t make any sense though. If that were the case why hasn’t he been dropped back to cup at the Dogs? Instead he’s played every game while they’ve rotated half the club through as his halves partner. That doesn’t sound like they’re undoing our mess.

I’m sure I don’t need to remind you we had won 2 consecutive spoons before Lachie came along. We also had his family demanding he starts or they wanted a release.

I agree we put young guys in far too early. We’ve created this problem where guys expect to be starting NRL players by 19 and if they aren’t they kick up a stink and leave. It’s been created by having such a weak squad for so long that we don’t have any better options.

Because the Dogs are victims of the hype train we created. Gould bought into it and then in his arrogant style tried to create the context that he was the one who first saw it in him. They also paid him overs to join them. They are now painted into a corner and have to make it work to save face.
All of this does not change the fact that it was our club who threw the keys to an 18 year old who had never proven a thing in senior footy. He delivered a spoon and the very next year we brought a highly experienced half in to join him…as his off sider!
Yes the Dogs are doing a horrible job with him but they have nothing on us. We are the leaders in this field.
 
I feel like he stays now. He already had baggage given the way he dogged his teammates. Now his pre-season will be recovering from surgery. Not a lot appeal to him atm.

Yes, I assumed he was injured again on Sunday coz even though he’s not the greatest tackler he’s been better than that.
Just seemed missing for most of the game. I hope he gets fit and returns for another go in 27.
Won’t be playing for Lebanon in WC which will hurt because he’s proud of his culture.

From the very start of the game you could see he was putting on a show. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he did all that so he doesn't have to cop the hiding his team mates will this week.

Maybe he has a deal elsewhere already done, and the club have asked to keep it on the DL until season ends?

Surgery now would likely be part of the deal
