OFFICIAL Jock Madden #244

Just watched the game again and Maddens ‘effort’ in defence is far greater than AD and defence in general is similar to AD who can also miss a tackle, but madden gives his outside men more room whilst AD tends to think what he can do individually.
Both are generally good goal kickers
The only advantage AD has, is he can kick the ball further, I don’t think that outways his inability to give outside men their opportunity

At some point we just have to make a call...

Here we are in what,
Doueihis' 8 Season at the club and we're still looking to 'fit him in somewhere'.
Cut the Chord - for the love of god!!

Talk about the lunatics running the Asylum.
At any other club, He'd have transitioned into a position in the forwards long ago
- Or he'd be winning Man of Steel with Jacko.

It really is getting beyond a joke!!

There was a reason Richo wasn't throwing alot of money at him... but like Benji, AD capitalised on the hbg fall out and extended on more $$

All the talk for AD at lock, but I reckon he would make a good second rower, he would need to muscle up but if he could get to 105kg plus without losing too much pace he would be hard to handle.

Could his body stand up to it that's the unknown.

How about compare him to the other flop who is on $1,200,000. We looked our best all year when douehihi was fit and healthy and playing with madden

Might be why your 'Flop' (With 4 Premierships and SOO wins behind him)
Got marched after less than 2 years.

Meanwhile,
After 7 Seasons (Coming into 8th) all and sundry here arguing is AD a 6, Is he a Centre, Is he the Lock, Is he the 7, Is he a Back Rower, maybe a Bench Utility....
and the Truth is - No one knows!
If he'd made a fist of any of them, it wouldn't be in Question.

I can tell you one thing,
If the Flop was asked to play out of Position, He wouldn't have thrown his arse in the Corner lapping Concorde on a conference call with half the Journos in the City.

I like Jock as a backup but I would have long-term concerns about him being a permanent halfback. He has got the silly errors out of his game and he "does the right things" but he's zero threat on the ball and I don't think you can go around every week just distributing.

Full credit to the guy he's done very well icing the odd field goal and puts his body in the right place in defence. I won't say "he makes his tackles" because he misses 3-4 tackles for every ~24 tackles he makes. But I would say not glaring line-break missed tackles.

Long kicking game is pretty ordinary and he almost never takes a run. Not fast and I would be surprised if he's broken a tackle all year (I looked it up: 3 TBs in 13 matches 2026). 16 try assists his whole career (45 matches). I know it's an unfair comparison but Nathan Cleary has 26 try assists this year alone.

If you had an awesome in-form 5/8th or someone like Ponga you could carry a Jock as your starting halfback.

It's unfortunate he's so physically limited because he's good at so many things a traditional 7 is meant to be good at.

Put his mind in Doueihi's body and you've got a genuine superstar. Instead he's more like Adam Reynolds without the elite kicking game.
Reyno has worked on his running game asell

Yep

2026
Thoughts?

Aware he's going to market in November, I don't think we're going to find better.

A lot to like about his game, he seems very competent and I believe he can get better.

I hope next year we see him and Latu as the halves, with Javon developing in cup, getting ready to take over, eventually.
Agree Demps, and his kicking game has been much better today. Has to be signed
