Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It's absolutely laughable that anyone who follows this club thinks they Doeuihi should be a senior player to guide our you've halves. He is not a 5/8 or a 7, he's not a lock or a centre. He's a lazy, selfish player who only looks after himself. He's a luxury we can't afford. He has no place in our starting 13. With Mann joining he has no spot in our top 17.
Given his salary and attitude we could much better use his place in the team. Madden is a far better mentor to our young halves, and that's saying something.
He’s a family friend mate . Threatened half the forum privately when everyone turned on AD. . Hes (@Vicious) is a treacherous scumbag . Nothing he says is genuine.

We ideally need an upgrade on Skelton, someone who can play wing or centre and apply genuine pressure for an NRL starting position.
Tavana is not an upgrade on Skelton and Herbert as our main back up right centre does not fill me with confidence.
Maybe they think Dunster can do the same job at a cheaper price....

Depending on how he pulls up.

Signing Frizell will be as successful as the signing of his former fellow Knight prop, Klemmer.

There's got to be a young prop somewhere ready to fully embrace a solid 40-60min in a NRL. The Roosters seem.to pull one out of their arse every second season.
Different to Klemmer on a few counts. Klemmer was brought in as a big name prop on big name prop money. He was ok for us but his output wasnt what we paid for. Frizell would be on a middle range salary and can play multiple positions in the forward pack.

Frizell on 1-2 years is pretty good business in addressing the depth and experience problems.

That’s your opinion and as you know, I agree with your opinion more often than not.
As for AD I believe he is a much more valued and respected team mate than many of our fans like to give him credit for.
Don’t let the reasoning behind why he missed the Raiders game get in the way of a good story.
He has since admitted he done the wrong thing, apologised and I’m sure he aims to make up for it with his attitude and on field performance throughout the 2027 season.
He is not the first and will not be the last man who has ever made a bad decision.
I believe he is a good quality running 5/8 and when you have the likes of Herbert, playing injured, Bula playing injured and Turuva playing injured on your outside, it’s a much better option to run the ball yourself more often than not. I certainly don’t want a 5/8 who just shovels the ball to someone else for the sake of it, a good 5/8 needs to be an extremely good and dangerous ball runner and that is what AD is.
As I keep saying, I believe the emerging Javon Andrews is all class and has a higher ceiling than Doueihi, This being the case it should create great competition as the 2027 season progresses and similarly the experienced Jock Madden will keep Latu Fainu on his toes and ensure he is playing well on a regular basis, otherwise he will be ready to step in and take his spot at halfback.
Is Latu a better halfback or 5/8? I believe he is definately at his best as a left sided 5/8 with a game controlling halfback as his 7, so that will also need to be considered, but I think our plan will be to try and turn Latu into a genuine 7.
I don’t see our halves being a problem, providing they have willing ball runners and strong defenders around them.
If our halves don’t work out, we can simply look to recruit a genuine 7 for 2028 and beyond.

Even at his peak Klemmer was an ordinary overrated front rower. He had no physical presence whatsoever. He developed a reputation for being an enforcer through shaving his head a screaming like a tough guy. He was an absolute pillow, and that was even when he played for Australia. He was just like Jason Ryles, a complete waste of size and talent with zero toughness as an NRL frontrunner. He and Frizelll are both completely different in style and ability, but also different in significant price tag.

Frizell is a pro , he plays to win , would be a solid buy for 1-2 years

I'm super suspect about injuries for Cody Walker. He'll be 37 start of next year and had an ordinary run of leg injuries 2026, including that last calf injury going down untouched, prior to that hamstrings.

There's a fair few older guys going around but once they start doing leg injuries at that age, I get suspect.
Not to mention his head and/or heart would never be in it. He doesn’t wanna leave souffs but bcoz he was a late bloomer he’s trying to squeeze as much out as he can. He’ll be a poor signing for any team. He should take what Rusty is offering and have a retirement year and then into is coaching job with the bunnies.

Agree with both points, Friz would be valuable to us, and we also need good young props. We seem not to have identified any young props since Utoikamanu.

If we sign Frizell, the worst thing that could happen is for the Knights to win tomorrow night. How would you still have the hunger at his age after winning a premiership the way they would have? There won’t have been a premiership winner like them since us.

You must be thinking of Twal from 5 years ago. If twal was fit, there was a good chance he would have made the blues squad. He was in great form this year and every club would have him if they could
No I don’t believe he is, he’s watching the same Giant Sloth as me.
Love Twal, but if he’s our best we have issues, and as I keep saying we need a NRL run on prop and a lock asap so players like the Giant Sloth, Baby Giraffe, and Bollard can take their rightful place in the NRL team; the bench.
And while we’re at it an actual 7 would be nice.

Can you give me examples of 3 locks or props youd replace him with based on the perfromance you are looking for? Not unrealistic players e.g. haas. Just trying to understand who exactly you are comparing him to

I think him and benji have a good relationship, if he does except our offer , he comes across as a bloke who wouldn’t come unless he could give 100%

Same if they loose , seen his interview while back and said they have put 110% in busted it all year , big high now , loose massive low and agin at his age could be a massive struggle if we start poor , he won’t get up for it I feel
