Who here actually supports Western Suburbs in the KOE NSW Cup?

People always say this, but hardly provide any genuine examples of how it's actually "holding us back". Mainly just some vague notions.

Our own CEO has said it's a good arrangement that saves Wests Tigers time and money by having the Magpies handle NSW Cup game-day operations.

The only people who seem determined to keep revisiting it are a handful of rusted-on ex-Balmain supporters, or those looking for another excuse to grind their already well-worn axes.

Why would cost cutting our reserve grade team be a good thing?

No, I don't think that's a reasonable assessment. Most of us are more interested in the WT having the best first grade team. State Cup is an important pathway step. So, no, I'm not satisfied to save money and let the Ashfield crowd run that. Frankly I dont trust them to run a sausage sizzle. There are a few of them far more invested in the Magpies doing well compared to the WT. So if that all means WT putting up money for a good coaching staff and facilities, so be it.

The team is run entirely by Wests Tigers. It's part of the club's pathways system. They employ the staff and the players and provide facilities.

Nobody from Ashfield is running the reserve grade team. The Magpies footy club (which is not HBG btw) just host the game day event, sell some sponsorship and membership.

Ironically Wests magpies do actually run the sausage sizzle at game days.

Why would any true WestTigers supporters want to connect with Western suburbs in any way,

The club is WestTigers,
not Western suburbs nor Balmain but

WESTTIGERS FOR 26 YEARS NOW.

I’m a Wests Tigers supporter through and through.
I think it’s important to connect to both Western Suburbs and Balmain for history reasons. Regardless which team you supported before the merger, we should be grateful they did. Who knows which team we would be flowing now.
I don’t usually reply to these sort of comments but I just wanted to get my 2 cents worth in.
Regardless what our NSW cup side is called I follow them to, and have no issues with them being called Magpies, some of them end up in Wests Tigers jersey.

Where and when did our CEO say this?

Example of the past holding us attached below where Magpies directors are egging him on. It doesnt scream a professional club heading in the right direction, does it?

Another example would be HBG blowing up the board because they realised they were going to lose control if Richo turned another profit. Progress stifled = holding the club back.

Edit: @Papacito when did the ceo say this? Can you share?

Are you sure about that? It certainly was the case at one point in the not distant past that HBG paid the salaries of non-NRL players and officials. Is that no longer the case?

It's not perfect but if the Magpies can be front and centre in the logo, I think it be a improvement, and the magpie side of the merger will be happier and maybe they will feel represented abit more. And that way they can still call it the tigers so the Balmain side arnt upset . I follow West's tigers cause my grand father use to be ceo during the 80s so thats why I feel the way I do.

We all follow Wests Tigers mate. If you are designing them yourself and want a Magpie one. Have a Magpie front and centre and the yellow eyes of the Tiger at the back of him (just a thought) Great decade the 80’s produced some great players on both sides.
