Just turned it on 5 minutes ago and started scrolling the comments. Read this and thought Frizell must of had a great first half. So I checked the stats. In his 22minutes he had just 2 touches of the ball and just the one run.

The most positive note from tonight is that Latu didn't play and his only injury was a paper cut during his autograph session. NRL physio says he should be OK for Round 1

Predictable win for NZ.
Australia should dispatch Samoa similarly tomorrow and we’ll get another trans Tasman WCF.
The Pacific nations are tough, but they have no stamina and their spines lack experience and class.
They are years away from being truly competitive to a tier 1 standard. They need to play more.

I'll watch the first half a little later tonight if 7+ allows access to replays. I'm sure he defended well, but how good could 1 pass and 1 run possibly be?

I picked NZ to win this WC in the preseason. That said, Australia is improving game by game and haven’t really hit top form yet.
Depends how Mitchell is used by the Kangaroos…I’ll back us to get them, assuming they come through the Samoa game reasonably fit.

I think the interchange forwards were the difference. When Frizell AFB and taumololo went off I felt Tonga were lacking in the middle even before halftime
Tonga had their opportunities though with a few line breaks
Kiwis will have to defend better if they want to beat Aus
