    OFFICIAL Harold Matthews Cup

There are a number of issues involved with having 2 teams in junior reps but a big one that is outlined by the club's pathways staff every time when asked is the geographical coverage of our region and the time/cost involved for parents/players to travel from one end to the other for training...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Bit of a surprise given he missed the camp. But I guess as you say, he’s still a contracted player until his release paperwork is stamped so the club decided to have him along for PR.

Here is the latest news story that @Vicious is referring to. Bird wasn’t at the army camp either. https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/leeds-rhinos-jack-bird-transfer-update

LIVE GAME Team v Roosters trial..LIVE game discussion

Yep & poor Jock Madden must have left the club already. No profile on there. And while I’m at it, were the junior reps cancelled on the weekend because there are no reports/results on the club website. Yes I jest but piss poor from the club. The comms team have had adequate time to prepare a...

LIVE GAME Team v Roosters trial..LIVE game discussion

Some take-outs & observations after watching a 2nd time. It was a very encouraging watch but always keeping in mind this was an NRL depth trial only and against a 2nd tier Roosters team. Still a good exhibit of our young talent & systems for '26. - Great to see our players looking very fit and...

    HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Music to my ears these tid bits of insight. Thanks @cochise.

    HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Thanks for the insight Garry. Did you get a sense that how we played on Saturday was following what the coaches outlined in this session - smaller middles at times, hit to hurt in defence, forwards passing 2 or 3 wide etc?

    Round 2 team 2026

Had similar thoughts about lack of size & obviously aware the opposition was NSW Cup quality but this could be a great strategy, maybe using the likes of Seyfarth, Twal & Sione instead who are bigger but either very agile & fit or workhorse/effort types. Yeah I am loving Jack also this season...

    Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

And we have to remember not every player in our top 30 is signed with potential to be a superstar. We need solid depth players who know Benji's system & can play the role set for them. I thought Sukkar was very good in the trial on Saturday and actually was strong in contact on both sides of...

Probably wrong thread to ask but did the coaches share anything new at that session @cochise ? Or just answer in your next Claws Out if that's the plan.

    Jock Madden #244

Yeah I did too, it was a beautiful exchange late when CTM & Havea Jr's silky hands put I think it was Kit L through who ultimately scored. Reckon we'll see these 3 pass exchanges a lot in our play this season.

    Round 2 team 2026

I'll put a few observations in the trial thread but it was interesting that the 10 or so mins into half time we played a middle of Mason, Murray & Jack with Haywood, possibly the smallest middle quartet in history. It'll be interesting if this system continues - we use smaller, workhorse, agile...

    Jock Madden #244

On a few of those 2nd half tries, I was in disbelief how deep our backline was and how spread they were. I know the opposition was 2nd/3rd tier but it was poetry to watch lol

    6 man Bench Utilisation

Yeah that makes sense. I think 3 forwards + (hooker) + (half) + (outside back). But I reckon Benji is building our depth so that potentially the hooker, half & outside back can be rotated each week so players do not miss much game time. For example, Hope could be on it one week & Haywood the...

    Jock Madden #244

I loved how deep Jock dug into the line before passing, split second before impact and his long passes in the red zone were bullets. It opened up our backline beautifully.

    OFFICIAL Jersey Flegg Cup

I watched some of it on Bar TV. Yeah Samuelu (Bunty's bobbleganger) was good, seems a workhorse with some impact. I think most of these NSW Cup players will be playing Ron Massey this season unless we have a bad injury run. Max Liles also played and was fair. Out of our Flegg guys, yeah Oitmann...

OFFICIAL Pathways - KOE General Discussion

Yeah I remember seeing someone say Mav was on light duties at the open training session. Hopefully right to get some reps next week. Looks like we mistook Bunty in last week’s Cup trial for new Magpies signing Ieti Samuelu. Similar afro hair & body shape albeit a bit smaller. Was impressed...
